But seriously, from Venezuela to Iran, to foreign athletics, 'most' Americans, living in their own bubble, only react to world news when its in their face, or maybe on twitter these days. Not just current affairs, but more so history, geography etc. Centre of universe syndrome?

With no TV in my mother country until 1974, growing up in 'isolation', we couldn't get enough of print and radio news. Even listened to the Apollo landings, in awe of the world, of the USA, UK etc, just wanting to know more.
