Talks about it on the LRC podcast. It’s in her book that is coming out so they brought it up. Ryan 100% got her into them, right? Wish I knew how to get them. People will mock it but they do show promise for having a lot of benefits.
They are pretty accessible nowadays (in the USA). For example I have of 4 reliable sources for buying usable product and none of them are sketchy drug dealers in an alley. You can also buy spores and grow them if you have a decent greenthumb. If you want to discuss it more, just say so.
Disclaimer: always take responsibility for your own actions. Don't be an @$$hole on mushrooms or any drug or while sober.

They are legal in DC. I drove there once from Atlanta when I had a week off between jobs

Anyone who is not a tedious dullard has tried them.
Call me a tedious dullard then. I never knew they were legal. I took some gummies a few times but they never worked. So what's the deal? How are the magic mushrooms supposed to work? I always thought it was a 60s hippy thing?

Low doses are a slight stimulant, mood elevation. High doses can be psychedelic
I believe the only hallucinogen on the banned list is MDMA (ecstasy) It has stimulant properties so is considered a stimulent.
AI Psilocybin is not currently listed as a prohibited performance-enhancing substance by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for the Olympics, nor is it explicitly listed among the main banned drug classes for the NCAA. www.usada.org +1 Olympics (WADA) Status: Psilocybin is not listed on the WADA Prohibited List. Context: While not banned as a performance enhancer, WADA notes that the use of hallucinogens can pose serious safety risks in sport due to effects on perception and attention. Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE): Because it is not prohibited, athletes cannot get a TUE for psilocybin. www.usada.org +2 NCAA Status: Psilocybin is not specifically listed in the 2024-25 NCAA banned drug classes. Context: The NCAA bans classes including stimulants, anabolic agents, alcohol, and narcotics. However, the NCAA has a "strict liability" policy, and many schools have their own internal policies against illegal substances, which can result in penalties. Safety Warning: Despite not being on the, main banned list, psilocybin is a Schedule I substance under federal law, and its use is highly discouraged in sporting contexts due to health and safety concerns. www.usada.org +4 Note: WADA updates its list annually, and the NCAA updates its banned substances, so these lists are subject to change
I was always afraid of acid and shrooms. That kind of loss of control doesn't appeal to me. Like you drop acid and then you're at it's mercy for an undetermined period of time.
99% of what is written about Jesus in the Bible (and should be the foundation of Christianity) is to do good by others. The Halls actually seem like pretty good Christians.
My anonymous post #39 was removed. It contained no objectionable content, discussed Christianity which is a recurring topic in this thread, and alluded to whether using mind-altering drugs is appropriate Christian behavior.
The point is this:
1) Christianity is not merely do-good-ism as the quoted post claims. Christianity claims that Jesus is God.
