When i ran Boston, a really cute girl pointed to her cheek for me to kiss it but i was afraid to stop and i was already smitten with my wife at the time.. plus a PR effort was underway
If you're in the top 100, you might be able to get a kiss but I won't guarantee it. Nobody is interested in kissing hobby joggers. They just cheer for everyone else. Its expensive to travel and stay in Boston for this race, but since it only takes around 2:25 to get in the top 100, most letsrunners could probably do it.
Sounds like a 'wannabe' to me. Yeah, I can climb Mt. Everest barefooted but I don't want to.
Charity? Ironic you would mention charity on a Bostone Marathon topic. No longer is this race just for qualifiers. Now charity runners fill the streets...for 6 hour marathons!
Can we save one marathon to be just for those that qualify?
Yep. I don't know what took over first, the Social Justice folks or the BAA wanting to make more money. A shame that what was once one of the premier athletic events has morphed to where it is. The deeper you dive into their antics the more disgusting it is. But its still a good place to be to talk 'running sh*t' with some of the world's best marathon runners. Their 'Virtual Marathon' during Covid is the straw that broke this camel's back.
