why would a 1A in the middle of nowhere have 3 meets a week? most 1a's in TX might have 3 meets in the regular season, total, before the state progression starts. small school = no budget = no track. = 3 driving meets a week? no. so this feels vaguely troll-y.
in TX a 1a would be 104 students or fewer. let's be real, your primary concern would be numbers and recruiting. at a 1a district meet in texas the times are very slow and you might win just by showing up more people who take points in more events. i am looking at a 1a's recent meet and the 100m times were over 12 and only 9 kids entered. a kid running 13+ scored a point. turn out. turn out. turn out.
in terms of training, it sounds like a lot of what you're saying you do is holdover. put your stamp on it. concrete is hard on the legs. is there no field to run in? even dirt? i'd rather be running cones on dirt than that. i'd prefer that to concrete. and next year, not so many meets. that's insane. and can't be cost effective if you're really a 1a in the middle of nowhere. and that many meets are bad for training.
one thing you don't say is do you have to achieve anything regular season to make state progression, qualifying times, etc. in TX where i live now, the regular season plays no role in the postseason. i say that because if these endless meets are just "busy work" and not "state qualifying," you could use them as you see fit. you could turn 2 of the 3 meets a week into glorified training sessions. you could enter kids in multiple races but tell the kids in them to treat the pace like a practice. this isn't like a soccer regular season league where if you don't finish high enough you are eliminated. and sounds like not a time qualifying state. in which case, you may be stuck with the schedule but nothing says you have to treat all meets equal. i'd make the meet end of the week the serious one and treat anything else as practice. run the kids before their races. practice handoffs. use the time to practice field events.
