Just a 10k thrown at the end of a all day high school meet.
More lies. It is FOUR 10ks, not one.
And the high school meet ends at 4pm. The pro races don't start until 6pm. It's a whole different meet. Stop lying.
the 10ks are smack in the middle of the high school meet. Check the schedule.
the meet is ruined

Once again, more lies. It's the other way around. There are two high school races in the middle of the four 10ks. So it's 10 minutes of high school races and TWO HOURS of pro races. Stop making things up.
It’s 99% a high school meet circus. No long a premier pro meet.
Are the WMM's ruined because 99% of the runners are hobby joggers? Without the non professional runners there's no money to pay professional/super fast runners.

Again, this is exactly why the top pros stopped showing up. It went from a legit pro 10K meet to a mixed meet trying to do two completely different things at once and it diluted the product. No one is anti–high school racing, but combining it with what was supposed to be a high-performance pro event just doesn’t work. Different audiences, different purposes. Pros want a fast, controlled environment built for elite racing not a meet schedule built around high school heats. That’s why you’re already hearing about a new pro-focused meet in April because the athletes will go where the setup actually prioritizes them.
Wasn’t it always a couple of 10,000m races added on to the end of a high school meet? Serious question. I’ve read the reports of the pro races but don’t recall what’s been on the schedule before them.
And realistically, I don’t know how viable a pro meet built and sold around a marquee 10k would be from a financial perspective.

The Ten absolutely nailed it from 2021–2024, no debate. It was one of the few meets in the U.S. that actually delivered a true pro 10K environment and people showed up because of that. Last year they changed the formula, and it clearly took away from what made it great. This isn’t about “hating” high school racing, no one does. It’s just reality that a high school meet and a high-performance pro meet serve completely different purposes. When you try to merge them, the pro side suffers. That’s why the top guys are already looking elsewhere. With a new pro-focused meet coming, they’re going to choose the setup that’s actually built for them.
They're using a high school track. They probably need to have events for high schoolers if they want the meet to continue.
Those are 2 completely different things. The reason that particular high school track at JSerra is being used, is because during the pandemic the college tracks and the public high school tracks didn't want to let Sound Running use their tracks because of pandemic restrictions. But JSerra, being a private high school, was allowed to do whatever they wanted and they let Sound Running use their track. It worked out well, so Sound Running keeps using that track.
I suspect that the reason why they have more high school races than they did in the past is because 1) the entrance fees bring in much needed revenue, and 2) the high school runners, their parents, and their coaches are in the stands to watch the pro meets and it increases the number of spectators. (I went to a pro only meet at JSerra high school a few years ago and there were less than 100 spectators. Very few people come out for pro only meets unless someone very popular like Sydney McLaughlin is in the meet.)
I will also add that sponsor money plays a role here. HOKA is putting up the dosh that makes the event and the prize pool possible. They want more than 100 spectators present and having high school races not only boosts attendance, it also gives them the opportunityfor brand awareness and to showcase their product lines to prospective customers.
LRC attracts a lot of curmudgeons, fools, and trolls because they get a free bullhorn to spew whatever nonsense they wish without fear of banishment or retaliation.
