Your post is 99% spot on, the only exception is the "notorious nutter" comment about Kersee. There were a lot of people on this site, including you blaming Kersee for Mu's downfall, when actually it was entirely Mu's personal issues, not the coach. BK's resume speaks for itself.
How anyone can solely put the blame on Mu is beyond me. Kersee has to bear some responsibility here. His resume may 'speak for itself' in the sprints & hurdles, but certainly not as a middle distance coach.
We've been over this a million times, but to prevent the fastest US U20 athlete at 400m (& 4th fastest U20 ever....) from running that event ever again, simply to avoid clashing with his other protege is an absolute travesty. To then make the most naturally gifted 400/800m woman run 1500s and 3000s is quite ridiculous. Is it any wonder Mu lost all motivation?
"Kersee knows what he is doing"....."trust the process"...."look at his other successes".... she was under so much pressure to just accept this crazy approach from him, when actually, he didn't have a clue how to coach her properly. That is what I believe caused her to lose interest.
