Short-term pain for long-term... even greater pain. Dont forget to buy your official Trump wrist watch/memecoin before you lose all your disposable income!
I assume you mean only for families traveling in the family truckster? Becasue 20/gallon (approx 40/gallon diesel) would mean countless businesses going bankrupt. Anything relying on transport would also see 10-20% inflation...also...
Lots of these pretend Christian, climate change denying, maga cultists drive huge vehicles for status symbols. It'll hurt them the most so I'm all for it.

No it would not. Do you have any idea what $20 a gallon gas would do to the cost of living? Look at food. Farmers would pay six or seven times as much to run their equipment as they do now. Trucking companies would do the same to ship food from farms to warehouses and from warehouses to stores. The stores will lay off workers to minimize costs as much as possible but most of the higher costs will be passed along to customers. And this will happen to every product you can buy. It would be an economic disaster
Its not just too many cars, way way too many suvs, and large vehicles. They take up much more space than people think, parking, traffic vision, the roads obviously. Im glad the prices are hiking up for them, they deserve it. Tell me what are the advantages of driving an suv, RAM, over a sedan other than that youre a complete d*ck? Ill wait.
I mean trucks as in the real trucks, that deliver frigate containers of goods to the people across the country, not your stupid ram truck that you bought for your 16 year old kid because “He wanted it”
How TF do you think stores that you buy your groceries at get stocked? The USA is literally 3 days away from empty shelves and a complete Lord of the Flies situation.

I hope they go to $200 per gallon so worlds citizens will wake and rise up against the politicians who like starting these wars...might make them think twice about who outnumbers who.
