I hope that Szolosi & Zang run against each other this year. It won’t be in the State meet because I believe that Teays Valley and Athens are not in the same division.
I know Szolosi is going to Duke. Does anyone know where Zang is committed to?
Indiana
Thanks
i was going to mention Zang up in the thread when there was speculation about who would push Szolozi. I didn’t because of them being in different divisions.
I’m not totally surprised by Zang’s performance. She’s been building toward this but hasn’t had the best luck with injuries. Now she has a better performance than Heffernan, Franek, Infeld, Hartman, Scheffler and many other Ohio greats.

IU is a good school and that area of Indiana is beautiful with a lot of great place to run but Henes should try to flip Zang to NC State. That stuff happens a lot more in football , though, and Henes more than lol has used up all of her $.
I also thought that Henes would go after Szolosi. Maybe she did but most people that go to Duke really want to go to Duke. Same with Prodoehl a few years ago. I'm pretty sure that Henes recruited her but she wanted to go to Cornell. Szolosi & Zang are both those "blue collar" types that seem to end up in Raleigh.
Not sure if anyone else might’ve caught this but did MileSplit Ohio get a change in leadership? Seemingly went ghost for a few weeks at least on X then started blasting tweets and memes at state; not a great job of updates but better than nothing?

Funny, a week ago I didn't know where Zang had committed to.
Lost in Zang's performances has been the outstanding performances this past weekend of Szolosi & Aldrink, also at the NB meet. If all of them stay healthy I expect big things from all of them this spring season.
Also not sure how relevant this is either, but the OHSAA has dumped Milesplit this season, with race registrations, etc. now all being funneled through Athletic.Net.

Anyone by any chance know why? Does this mean we won’t have to pay an arm and a leg to watch state?
We were all caught by surprise. It would've been nice if they talked to coaches before locking up with a group that's most closely associated with this right now.
Fredrich 8:55 at Arcadia this past weekend. Ellis ran 8:57 for a full 2 miles indoors. They will race the 3200 at Eastern Relays tonight. Should be a great matchup/state preview as Friedrich came out on top in the state 32 last year and Ellis won the state xc title. Also of note is Brock Jarrett (state runner up indoor 16) and Ryne Reynolds (3rd place state xc) are entered in the race as well.
The boys' Ohio HS record in the discus was set today by junior James Conrad (Cleveland St. Ignatius) with his 209' 0" toss at GlenOak HS of Canton. This broke the 26yo all-time Ohio record of 208' 5" set by Jason Caldwell (Mentor HS) back at the 2000 Golden West, and the OHSAA-approved record of 206' 4" by Macklin Tudor (Mount Orab Western Brown HS) in 2012. Tudor later threw 208' 5" for the University of Cincinnati.
