He commented under the Runnerspace post on Instagram saying something like “softest DQ of all time get these geriatric legally blind officials out of the sport.” Looks like he’s just as arrogant as he’s always been. Get humbled loser. Grow up.
Birnbaum too. Wearing sunglasses indoors and oozing arrogance in his interview. Can't wait for Tayvon Kitchen to crush those guys at Nattys.

It's always great to see Burns get throttled after all the toxicity he puts out. His comment there says it all.
I had to watch it on a tiny screen and couldn't really see exactly what happened with Burns. is it clear in the video that what he did was egregious?
he moved out and 2 competitors got bounced out and/or knocked down
I could see that much. Was just thinking it was possible that he made a move at exact time that a person behind him decided to go into rocket launch mode.
I don't doubt it was Burns's fault. But it's certainly possible that guys coming from behind can be part of the problem.
And sometimes it's not anybody's fault. It's just something that happens.
ok. i finally got a better look at it. doesn't look like there was any room in front of the michigan guy for him to think he could go.
I don't know if it's coaching or the athletes being obsessed with sticking to the rail. if the race is running 30 seconds slower than you're capable of, you can afford to get off the rail for awhile. but also, it was really REALLY early for him to feel like he needed to make that move.
I can't speak for officials, but in cases where a runner impedes or causes others to trip/fall in front of everyone, there is just no way you won't at least be considered for a DQ. Even if it seems "soft", if it's dumb obvious a fall happened because someone got in someone else's way, it's just a blatant violation of some rule, so you will be DQ'd.
Yeah for Burns, he tripped people so he got a DQ. I guess since the DMR guy didn't trip or interfere with the other too much they let it slide. Though I suspect if it was late in the 1600 he would have gotten DQed.

A DQ for that? Are you kidding me? CB was completely clear. Those other two just tripped over each other. And seriously, were they even scoring? What a joke of an officiating call.
Foolish and unnecessary move by Burns. You cannot just move out like that. No room. There was plenty of time to find space.
These Oregon coaches need to work on the psychology (morale!) with their male distance runners - they keep messing up. It's almost contagious at this point. Like they're "cursed." First with the DMR fiasco last weekend, now several errors at Big10s. They gotta get their heads on right.
The move by the Oregon guy going for the rail (1st leg of the DMR at Big10s) was a huge misstep. If I was their coach, I would say, "Make better choices, and stop panicking if the race isn't going exactly as planned."
I think what's happening at Big10s is: they're so focused on a race going exactly as planned, as the soon the race starts to deviate from their plan, they blow up. That's not the way racing goes, you have to think on your feet sometimes. Plan A, Plan B, Plan C.
Disappointing for several of their runners - not just one.

I live in Oregon and am a huge track fan and have met Jerry and think he's very nice. That said I have a realllly hard time cheering for his team. The arrogance is off putting. I like an attitude and confidence- but the way his current group of guys acts i just am not a fan. This team has so much money thrown at them with so many amenities and world class facilities and a media team that is constantly hyping them up and its very apparent its gotten into their heads. Admittedly many acted like that in HS too so maybe it's just who he's recruited

The michigan guy had been there for quite a few strides i believe. Burns just didnt care.
Cherubet just tried very aggressively to cut in on someone in a mile. Pushed her off the first 2 times but eventually let her in. Must be coached to make aggressive moves.

I know this little boy thinks his comments now are edgy and funny, but in a couple years he’s going to look back on these and realize how stupid / childish he sounds. I hope this moment comes sooner rather than later, for his own sake.

So funny how this website is cool of old folks who get mad about athletes being vocal. Its just a sport about who's the fastest. No one needs to act a certain way in interviews or social media. Actually makes the sport more entertaining. Let simeon wear the shades and let connor talk his trash. Tayvon is a great runner but hes just another boring clean cut innocent byu kid. Langon, green, hocker, connor, simeon, teare.... let them cook

you are allowed to practice.
emulate traffic and finishes,
like four guys 6 x 500m wotkout, where the first 200 m is as 30 sec, and battle it out to the line,
emulate.many times as a regular thing.
back in the day, they out in very little work into the most important asoect of their craft, of racing.
