Yes, many single girls/women who live alone keep knives and similar items under their beds or in nightstands, etc. Sounds crazy in the article, but it’s a safety thing.

If she is streetsmart and tough enough to a) unlock the dorm door with a hairpin and b) look for and find a knife under the dorm bed while being attacked, and c) kill her attacker from this position, then she obviously needs to be recruited by SEALS or Green Berets. Maybe needs to serve a little time first.

"unlock the dorm door with a hairpin" It definitely wasn't a door knob with a key hole. It's a indoor door knob, they are literally designed to be opened this way with a little hole you can jam something in it unlock it.
But yes the other stuff is crazy, getting choked where the attacker will have their arms extended, and being able to stab them in the back from that position doesn't make sense.

Ok so they took dude to the hospital, and took photos and tried to interview him, and then sent him to a better hospital where he died.
Maybe make sure dude is going to be ok before we do the paperwork?

I dated a woman who is a detective in our small city. Most of the crime around here is sexual assault, drugs, or, as she told me, ex boyfriends or girlfriends attempting (but usually failing) to harm or kill and ex.
