Congrats to Emily Infeld and her husband, Max, on the pregnancy. By all accounts, Emily is among the nicest and most well-liked runners in the sport, and it has been fun to follow her throughout her long and successful career, including this new chapter.
Lots of women taking advantage of the off year so far. Emily, Calli Thackery-Hauger, Sydney McClaughlin-Levrone, Beatrice Chebet, even Grayson Murphy (not a track runner these days) and Kylie Mantz.

Why is she “among the nicest and most well-liked”? Are other runners not so nice or liked? In any case, what is the relevance of her niceness, whatever that means, to motherhood? Does it make this new pregnancy chapter of hers extra fun to follow compared to other runners’ that may or may not be that nice?
I will say I did not down vote but I totally get the degree of cringe when someone says "we're pregnant". Ugg. Gack. If I was really being cynical, "congratulations" always makes it feel to me like they had to work hard for something or won a prize? But fortunately, im not that cynical.
Considering the sheer evil of being stalked for years, she doesn't need any general attention. Let her live her life in peace. And as far as shoe deals go, she'll bring more media attention and fan interest from pregnancy and being a mother than ever before, and it will likely help her performances when it counts next year in a World Championships year. We've certainly seen that from St.-Pierre and many others in the past.
She is 35. Maybe get your facts straight before you comment. And no you are wrong- it is very common and possible to have a healthy baby at 35 and older.
This is correct. Some of my female friends got pregnant at 38-40 and have great kids now, no problems.

I actually hope you are right. But Nike should have been made aware before the signing of the contract.
