Says he only found out things 2 days before it hit the news cycles. He subsequently searched for a new job. While he waited for a background check to clear before telling Michael Johnson he’d be moving on, he got fired anyways. Says he would’ve never taken the job if he had foreseen all this.

All taken from the most recent CITIUS podcast
I know Citius are a puff piece outlet but that but was Pathetic.
I have no doubt that Merber is a decent guy and I take him at face value when he says he was kept in the dark but to put it on the table and not ask anything at all or offer any more than "I love the sport and it didn't work out" and he wasn't asked to speak at all on it is a complete jokeshop

As I said on the previous thread about this, it’s sleazy to pivot back to citius, which is a creditor of GST, and likely it was his connection that induced the deal between the brands. This does not distance him from the controversy.

Why do you expect him to say? “I was in on it the whole time. I was intentionally trying to screw the athletes over.” Is Kyle completely innocent? Of course not. Was out to get these athletes? Of course not. I’m sure he knew more than that statement in the OP’s post alludes to but people in this board are unnecessarily hard on him and think he was more involved than he likely was. I don’t think going back to Citius is a good look for either party. I also think it’s a bit strange that he thinks he can just issue this statement and just go back to Citius like nothing ever happened.
Despite his "director" title focused on athlete relations, he was an employee (not an owner/investor) and probably would not have been allowed to see the financials or projections. He also might not have been able to properly evaluate those details (weren't a bunch of experienced investors tricked as well)? Michael Johnson fooled a lot of people - investors, vendors, employees and athletes.
Yes, he was only hired help not.
How did Michael Johnson "fool people"? The investors bailed out when it became apparent the events would not generate the revenue GST hoped for.
I'm referring to MJ having some bad ideas of what makes a good track league and then continuing to string everyone along that there was money available, they would get paid, and ultimately GST would be a wild success - when all those hopes were long gone. I'm not saying he started this thing as a scam, especially after the article last night reporting he may lose $2M he put up for the Philly meet.

He claimed he had secured investment $ when actually those investors had not committed.

Seriously, can you elaborate? Why is it a "bad look" for him to go back to Citius?
Honestly if he only realized the dire cash flow situation two days before the news broke that’s an indictment on his ability to do his job.
Are you under the impression that he was hired as part of the finance team?
I’m under the impression that he was in the senior leadership team, and that senior director of racing should be staying appraised of their financials if he is doing his job competently.
I don’t buy this world where only the finance team in an organization has any idea of the financial situation. That’s not how companies operate.

Everyone , including LR knew GST was in financial trouble from meet one and Kyle is lying if he says he knew nothing about it!!!!!
Currently listening to the podcast and he basically said it was the hardest summer he has experienced but he’s doing okay and is back to the corporate job world. He will be making appearances here and there and contribute part time with Citius. His love from the sport hasn’t changed which is good!
Putting aside the GST stuff, Merber is just crappy at podcasting. He doesn't offer any new perspective, he isn't funny, and he isn't interesting.
I'm skipping his podcast because it is trash.
On the GST collapse, Merber definitely knew they didn't have the money. He was going around telling everyone he was a huge, key part of GST, now he is running around saying he was just a low level employee that just got MJ coffee every morning. LMAO the kid is a con artist.
Merber belongs on the Coffee Club podcast so all of the inane drones can be on at the same time.
