- tired from grand slam and peaked too early, he implies. Can't be in peak fitness year round
-altitude tent at 10k feet
- Olympic gold
- Marathon
No to both highlighted above.
Grant uses a special machine to turn an entire room in his house into an altitude space. Runs the electrical cord underneath the door.
Again, Grant mentioned he will eventually move to the marathon but did not say when. Did state the 10,000/marathon double is doable at the '28 LA Olympics which is something he is thinking about, not "hoping" or "planning" at this time.
What Grant did state more concretely is his interest in running a half marathon in 2026. But again, no commitment or targeted date for doing so.

Not quite. He didn't really say he was thinking about the 10000/marathon double. The interviewer mentioned that Rupp had done it, and Grant said it was possible to do. It was more that Grant was agreeable with the interviewer, being the chill dude that he is.
What's with the earlier post about Grant supposedly using a lot of F bombs? For some reason that comment stuck with me so I was listening for it as I listened. He literally used one. It was when the interviewer was asking him about what lights his fire to beat someone who is on his shoulder with 100-200m to go, and Grant basically said, "yeah, sometimes it's 'F this guy, even if he's a friend of mine.'"
Agreed with everyone else. It was a great interview and GF is impressively articulate.
So I clicked on the interview expecting it to be terrible and cringey. Genuinely I think the interviewer is good AND I've never seen Grant talk to this depth before. Not sure why the OP was so mad about a small parallel that was made to try and make a connection and establish a little common ground.

You're assuming he meant GST only. He was actually talking about his entire year, which included indoors, GST, and Diamond League.
He talked about his year from about 21:00 to 26:00 in the video. This is what he actually said.
"it's not that fun to just sit around and race once a year. Yeah, it's way more fun to race like 10 times a year. So, you've got all these other opportunities, but you know, to truly peak and be at your best at this one race, those other things do cut into it a little bit for sure. So, I bit off more than I could chew last year and thought I'd be able to manage, you know, all these races throughout the year and still be at my best at the end. And that, you know, turned out not to be the case. So going into next year, uh, I'll be a lot more intentional about which races I do and how I structure it out.
Um, my main mistake last year, I guess technically this year in 2025 was just biting off more than I could chew in in the racing and then the the training had to uh prepare me for those races. So I was training at a really really high level from about November to September."
Same I was expecting the worst and was pleasantly surprised. Much better than the sort of crap you'd get on a standard runner interview (with the obvious exception of the excellent tracktalk podcast).
I know but in the broader context he is being self deprecating talking about how he wrecked his hip trying to race a workout. Something I'm sure most of us can relate to!
Grant only stated his belief that the '28 LA Oly schedule allows for the 10,000/marathon double. Nothing more.
Another 10,000/5000 double seems far more likely. Especially if Grant continues to set track prs this year and next, starting with the 2k at NBIGP on the 24th.
When I was active duty, I competed for the All-Navy Marathon Team. I won the Armed Forces Marathon Title in 2:24:38 and finished 3rd overall at the Marine Corps Marathon. I ran a marathon that had 18,219 finishers in the event. I finished in front of 18,217 of the runners. Trust me, I know the annoyance of that. I have had more former military guys than I can count try and compare that to their unbelievable experience during the annual fitness test in which they went above and beyond the call of duty to complete the 3-mile portion of the test and for some reason all of them did it in 15:00 at one point in there military career and all had some stud in there unit that would do it in 13:00. I have gotten to the point now where I don’t mention my past running days to anyone and when they push there stolen running valor on me I pull out my cell phone and ask for a name and when they say why I explain that all athletes that ran the level of times your are describing will absolutely have an IAAF Profile while displays all of their performance and running accolades on it. As noted by Grant you have to learn to simply step aside and let someone spew there 1 up BS and learn to just let it slide right off your shoulder and not annoy you or let the other person know that you think they are either full of garbage or what they are saying is not impressive at all. Also, if they are doing it to a female and she is falling for it is she really someone you want to be with to begin with?
*Note: As a former military guy if I run into someone who starts telling me and a group of people about all the heroic garbage, they did on active duty the number 1 indication that they are full of garbage is the word “Classified” if that word comes out, I know they are a liar. I keep the same mentality with the above information! It is also important to know an argument with these people is not worth it, because they lack the essential intelligence to argue with.

Sorry for any errors with wording or grammar I completed this post by utilizing the voice over command on my cell phone to write the above.
Bro that guy was probably more fit than Grant in literally all ways that matter besides running. Lmao the ego of men here—in reality that guy is more fit than Grant and females agree.
any fff rehard on here who actually thinks Grant is “more fit” than that guy is living under a rock.

It's apples and oranges. No way Grant could bench as much as this bro ... and no way this bro could run 12:44 or have anywhere near Grant's VO2.
But I guess the interviewer is kind of a big deal in his sport, so probably in the same way we're wondering who the hell this Hunter guy is, his fans are wondering who Grant is and what's the big deal that he's run 12:44 if he hasn't even run a marathon yet. It's also like if Aaron Judge (baseball) got interviewed by Joe Root (cricket). Their fans may not know who the other guy is, but that doesn't mean they're not a star in their own sport.

Exactly! It means grant is a huge pu$$$$y and isnt as fit as the cross fit guy and any female would agree.
