He wasn’t the original guy who got caught doping — it was one of his teammates. That teammate snitched on him and a couple of others for doping. However, he never tested positive for doping. So, he got kicked off the team but was able to transfer
Everyone at ISU that I know all said it was Seth first then four others that got caught as well.
I heard it from someone who actually is friends with Seth. It was one of his teammates who actually got caught. They didn’t want to say the name of the person who did get caught, just that it was not Seth and that he got tested but did not test positive.
His Alma mater, Haddonfield Memorial, made NXN for the first time in school history this year. And they placed 9th there
I'm not sure if this post is implying that the Haddonfield boys are also juicing? I think that'd be a big leap, they've been one of the top NJ teams since the 80s.
I'm laughing that Rowan is the destination. It makes sense if his brother is there and close to home. Rowan has been telling recruits for at least a decade that they are building and indoor facility and moving to D1, it's a running joke at this point. NJAC also gets funnier as a whole, a 30(?) year old won the 1500 last year.

Some pretty impressive records 1:48/14:12 etc but most many years ago.
Let's wish him the best in his new school. Dude's suffered a certain amount of innuendo since the debacle last month following Nuttycombe.
Whether he crossed the line or not this year Seth has improved tremendously.
Suffered? He brought this upon himself and is only sorry because he got caught. I'm sure he's just bitter because many others at multiple schools haven't been caught.
I find myself torn. I try to put myself into the running shoes of the individual in question. The coaches at Iowa State went through the team with a buzz saw after last year and forced a number of the existing athletes out while picking a number of foreign athletes off of the proverbial menu.
If I were an American teenager on scholarship and the coach basically established the principle of produce or be replaced by an older foreign athlete, how would I react? When I found myself in that position, the answer was no (of course, I would not have had the money or knowledge of where to begin and the foreigners I was competing against weren’t pros). I simply transferred to a cheaper school. It is a new dynamic. I won’t judge this kid too harshly.
Never knew we’re supposed to applaud runners who cheat. “Crossed the line” is a huge understatement. He should never be able to compete in the NCAA again

It would be good if Seth put his hands up and admitted to any wrongdoing if applicable so that future athletes could learn from his mistake and he himself could take the right path from now on in.
It's still not clear exactly what happened and what he did - there's a lot of hearsay with no concrete evidence of anything but maybe Iowa State University is keeping those things in discrete mode to avoid further controversy.
People are astonished by Seth's one minute improvement in Nuttycombe over presumably the same course from 2024 to 2025 but other athletes who are clean have also improved by a minute over that distance so really making conjectures about this is not the best way to go about things.
I feel bad for Seth and the collateral damage done to his family which is unnecessary. Dude is no criminal. Let's get some perspective on this. When lawyers lie, sometimes even under oath, no one raises an eyebrow. Of all the sports known to man - track and field seems to place its athletes under a higher order compared to other sports by far. The pressure is relentless to conform.
I'm not condoning what Seth did if he did indeed cross the line, but the negativity seems to be overboard with regard to the Iowa state case which only involved a minuscule number of runners - possibly 1-3. None of the foreign monster runners were involved as far as we know.
The crux of the problem lies in the fact that the issues remain in a quagmire of uncertainty and innuendo and no one really knows what happened - except a select few who remain mum.
Enough said. Sorry if you don't agree with my viewpoint. Just trying to get some balance.
1 week after his breakthrough performance, Iowa State suspended him for "violating team rules" (whatever that means). Fast forward 1 month later and he's going back to his home state of NJ. Anyone else find it ridiculous that there hasn't been more information on this entire scandal? Not accusing Seth of anything, but until there is more information on why ISU suspended him, he should not be able to race for Rowan.
Isn't it clear that the team has a rule against being an EPO non-responder?
I would also add that there’s a big lack of accountability on Rowan’s coaching staff as well if that’s the case. They should be pushing for a bigger investigation before they take a 23 min guy off a d1 roster who got kicked off for “violating team rules”. That’d have to be a pretty big rule violation—doping or not—for a school to give a possible top 7 runner the boot.

You don’t have to test positive for a wada ban either. You can’t just switch teams and keep running in that case. Can you imagine how ridiculous that would be if a pro did that? If there was enough evidence to kick him off the team… seems like a massive flaw in the system.
What if, after Houlihan tested positive she's like, "oh yeah, Schweizer is doing it too". Schumacher then has Schweizer tested but results are negative. He drops her from the team because he doesn't want to deal with it. Are you saying that no other coaches would touch Schweizer?

Marion Jones never tested positive, should she just have popped over to Adidas? Lance never tested positive, should he have just formed a new team? Testing positive is not a requirement for a ban. Because Iowa has been allowed to cover this up it is more akin to Nike saw Schweitzer was doping and decided to silently end her contract.

If you know that the coach has some sort of evidence outside of another athlete's account then you have much more information that I do.
FYI, it is Iowa State, not Iowa. They are completely different schools.
