Would you rather have an over 30-year-old receiver making $30 million a year, or a 22-year-old receiver making an average of less than $3.5 million per year and use the salary savings to construct a more balanced roster?

Nobody cares about expenses except relative to a fixed cap. The salary cap, and government supported monopoly are what empower these owners to hold cities hostage for billion dollar stadiums. There needs to be a system of promotion and relegation that allows other teams to enter the league based on merit, and a free market that allows players to choose where the want to play.
