Since the suspected assassin of Charlie Kirk, Tyler Robinson, has been arrested and charged with murder, there have been a number of left-wing media outlets and influencers attempting to falsely characterize him as "MAGA" or "far-right," with some large accounts even posting doctored photos to make it appear as if Robinson was a Trump supporter. USA opinion writer Rex Huppke, for example, wrote a piece titled, "Charlie Kirk shooting suspect doesn't fit MAGA's reckless political narrative." The USA Today writer claimed on Friday, with the story being published at 5:14 pm, "Republican lawmakers, influencers and President Donald Trump have been wildly and irresponsibly predicting and posting online, with great certainty, that the shooter must be a radical leftist. They all but declared war on 'the left' over the death of Kirk, a controversial right-wing activist whom they swiftly elevated to sainthood. Predictably, the grotesque prejudgment has fallen flat, and the actual suspect in no way fits the right’s cynical political narrative." USA Today then went on to cite that Robinson grew up in a "church-going Mormon family," despite reports that Robinson had not been involved with the church for years, per The Times. “I hadn’t seen Tyler at church for a while,” someone familiar with the family told reporters. Additionally, Robinson allegedly inscribed bullets with Antifa-linked language, including “Hey fascist! Catch!” as well as the lyrics from the song “Bella Ciao,” once an Italian folksong, but has been taken up by far-left Antifa groups in recent years. Left-wing account Anonymous on X also posted and then deleted a doctored photo of Robinson in a t-shirt to make him appear like a Trump supporter, but not before the image went viral online. The original photo of Robinson was with a plain maroon shirt without logos. However, the photo of the shirt the account originally posted said, “Trump” with an American flag and “Make America Great Again” photoshopped onto the piece of clothing. The false post had millions of views before the account deleted the false image later on. Utah Governor Spencer Cox, speaking to the Wall Street Journal, said that Robinson was “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology.” His family had also told police that he thought Kirk was “full of hate and spreading hate” with the “viewpoints he had,” further showing that Robinson was not of the right, but on the extreme left of the political spectrum. On Reddit and other social media platforms, left-wing users have also been spreading the lie that Robinson was on the far right. The Daily Beast also posted an article attempting to paint Robinson as a conservative, with a caption on social media saying, “MAGA may have been quick to point fingers at the left for Charlie Kirk’s death, but Tyler Robinson's grandmother insists that they come from a family of Trump supporters.” The left-wing outlet cited comments from Robinson’s grandma, who said her “family members are Republican” and that she did not know of “a single one who’s a Democrat.” The outlet then cited a photo that has been going viral online of Robinson in his younger years, dressed up in a costume featuring Donald Trump, where he appears to be riding on Trump’s back. NBC News, with its headline, also misled about the political messages left on the bullet casings allegedly by Robinson. The corporate outlet released a report titled, “Charlie Kirk shooting suspect referenced fascism and memes on bullets, officials say.” The outlet described, “Hey fascist! Catch! ↑ → ↓↓↓,” as a reference to “a video game that's been interpreted as a satire of fascism.” The outlet then referenced the lyrics of an Antifa-linked song, “Bella Ciao,” found on one of the bullet casings. After this, the outlet claimed, as of yesterday in the report, “It’s not clear what political perspectives Robinson held from other publicly available materials,” and then referenced the photo of Robinson when he was younger in the Trump-related costume. Robinson has been charged with assassinating Charlie Kirk on Wednesday at Utah Valley University. He was turned in to the authorities with the help of his father, and he reportedly lived with a transgender partner. Walk-in Shower In 2025Homebuddy ADVERTI

The lying is from the right trying to turn the killing into a left-wing crusade against them. In his text messages before the murder Robinson (who came from a Trumper family) said he had "had enough of the hate" and that "evil couldn't be negotiated with". That is a moral and emotional view, not a political one. He didn't appear to have a political agenda.
Do you have a poll that showing that a high percentage of liberals support celebrate the murder of certain individuals? What was the percentage for people on the right?
I consider Kirk to have been more of entertainer than an activist, and I don’t there being many people that wanted him dead.
Because you asked, I’ll supply some references you should be able to google easily, but the context is useful and looking at the multiple perspectives is also helpful. I’ve hinted at a portion of my take.
***** A key earlier one was the Network Contagion Research Institution, in concert with Rutgers Social Perception Lab. Their polls and culture briefs periodically assess such broader public attitudes. FWIW, NCRI also assesses right-wing political violence like the boogaloo movement.
** “ Murder Justification: 31% and 38% of respondents stated it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Elon Musk and President Trump, respectively. — “ These effects were driven by respondents that self-identified as left of center, with 48% and 55% at least somewhat justifying murder for Elon Musk and President Trump, respectively.”
Those numbers are appalling and saddening, but it’s incredibly dishonest that people extrapolate “violence against someone you disagree with” as a more general take than that.”
…
…
More recent polls after Kirk’s death:
***** YouGov: ”What Americans really think about political violence” (9/12/25)
In that, “Most Americans say it's unacceptable to be happy about public figures' deaths, but younger and more liberal Americans are more likely to call it acceptable”
** POLL Q: Do you generally consider it to be acceptable or unacceptable for a person to be happy about the death of a public figure they oppose? (%)
— US adults: 8/77
— Very liberal: 24/56
— Liberal: 10/73
— Conservative: 4/91
— Very Conservative: 3/90
** POLL Q: Is political violence justifiable? (Yes, can sometimes be justified/ No, violence is never justified)
— very liberal: 25/55
— liberal 17/68
— conservative: 6/83
— very conservative 3/88
But even those alarmingly high percentages leave a lot of room for what someone might mean by “can sometimes be justified,” even though I doubt many of those people are thinking of Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
*****The Hill: ”Liberals more likely to say political violence sometimes justified: Poll”
***** Reason Magazine: : ”J.D. Vance Says 26 Percent of Young Liberals Justify Political Violence. Here's What the Data Really Say.” ** “Majorities on the left and on the right denounce political violence and its celebration.”
Don’t worry, Trump is convinced this was a radical left organized and planned operation. He will be rounding up random people he doesn’t like in to concentration camps shortly.
The lying is from the right trying to turn the killing into a left-wing crusade against them. .
That is a portion of the lying , and it is coming from some on the right.
I’m a big fan of trying to root out all the lies and all the destructive views, no matter whose they are, because that’s a problem for all of us, even if not everyone sees it.

He has a strong tendency to assert authority, lie, mischaracterize others’ intent, and push or overstep the boundaries of his constitutional authority. If and when that occurs, it should be called out.
If you detest dishonesty, call it out wherever and whenever you see it, regardless who perpetrates it, and strive to be scrupulously honest yourself. Be a model of objectivity and honor to others.

Well, he isn't one of them. 34 felony convictions, a court finding of sexual assault, and an insurrectionist.

He has done a metric ton of things in the last 6 months he didn’t do in his first term. Including rounding up US citizens. Have you been living under a rock?

What would be even better is if you and everybody else actually cared about making sure that everybody was only fully honest, paid strict attention to the facts, and made their points in a fully rational way. You know: instead of just being hyperpartisan and ignoring everything wrong with their own side.
I won’t be holding my breath on you taking that approach, and I certainly won’t be holding my breath about it becoming the norm.
The republicans say the democrats are stupid.
The democrats say the republicans are evil.
There is no "both sides" here.
The Democrats are demonstrably stupid.
No rational human being could claim that Charlie Kirk was evil. Yet the left murdered him for his opinions.
And NO it wasn't just one crazy it was a perfectly sane kid who bought into the 24/7 lies that the Democrat media and politicians have been pumping out for over a decade.
The Democrat party is broken. These people are mentally ill.
Do not vote for these people. The party needs to be destroyed so the moderate and sane Democrats can take their party back.
