So many liars. Yep I'm with millions and I spend all day on a antiquated running website. That is just sad.

There are more honest posts in the brosnan book thread. Half the posters here in reality are on welfare, fixed income, or teacher salaries.

Teacher salaries are not horrible and they often precede decades of teacher pensions.
I'm 76, still have a mortgage and spend 200k a year on BBC and rooms at Motel 6.
55, $35k annual income. $10k in savings for emergencies, will have to retire on SSI (maybe at 65).
My shack is paid off. My 10 yr old subcompact is paid off...debt free.
No friends, no GF (widowed), just my canine companion. Depressing at times, but I have enough money to buy running shoes, sign up for a few races here & there & buy healthy, organic food.
Maybe in the next life, I can be wealthy & really enjoy life. 😏
300k house paid
85k cash
95k pension
Kinda average
55, about $5M, but half of it tied up in my company. I'll sell it in 2-3 years, goal is to be at around $7M at that time, then retire. Though I may do something for fun, like work at a running store, and maybe some consulting. 3 kids, last one is a senior in college, married. I'll find plenty to do. Recommendation for everyone out there, invest in your 401ks, early and often.
47. It’s hard to determine as most of my net worth is tied up in partial ownership in a few private companies and a couple of commercial buildings. I can’t sell my ownership without the agreement of my partners, and even then it would be less than market value.
Liquid net worth is only about $200K. Fire sale net worth is just over $1M (excluding my house). Best case scenario is $3-5M but I’ll have to wait at least 6-10 years to divest.
I still have to put 2 kids through college, so I’ll probably be working until at least 60. I don’t love my job, but I also don’t hate it. No pension. I think $5-6M at 60 will be enough, but a lot of things have to go my way to get there.
I am 54 with family net worth of about $7M. I retired at 50 because I have a son amd daughter running in college. My daughter is at an Ivy. They charged us $95K this year due entirely.to net worth. Don't let anyone tell you that they only consider income.
JFC how many multi-millionaires are there on LetsRun? I'm in the poorhouse compared to these people. Oh well at least my PRs are probably better. LOL

I suspect that self-selection is more to blame than lying. Not too many of us have-to-work-until-I-die types are going to post on this one; it's going to be mostly folks who've done well for themselves.
