So then why does everybody on thr left have a problem with trump cleaning up the gangs, taking away their illegal weapons, and arresting them? The local authorities and politicians weren't doing it, so he did. If these aren't democrats, why is it so concerning to those on the left that their violent crimes are being punished for a change?
Using the military to occupy a US city is very concerning for many people. It is just another step towards authoritarian rule. The right used to be very concerned about this type of action just a very short few years ago. Remember those don’t tread on me flags? Now it is just crickets.
The left would definitely get behind confiscating guns though. It is more using the military to occupy a city, ICE agents asking for “papers”, forcing homeless people to move without a plan that feels like the end of a free society.
Guns should be confiscated only from those that have them illegally or using them for crimes. That's exactly what's happening with this approach in DC. But because you dont like who is taking the guns and who the criminals are (lib gang members) you are suddenly against it. You might as well just come out and say "I want the government to only take guns from legal, law abiding hunters who lean to the right. But lib minority criminals should be allowed to keep them".
Seriously? Have you not been listening to all your buddies squawking and whining the last 2 weeks about having the national guard in DC? Things like this are why you lost the election. Your leaders are all in on the completely nonsensical.
Did you just conflate taking issue with the state using its military to lockdown a city with hating an absence of murders?
That is excellent news. Of course the left doesn’t like this because thugs and murderers are the allies of the political left and have been the allies of the left since Lenin in 1918.
Anne Applebaum write about it in her excellent book “ Gulag”
Democrats are on the side of rapists, muggers, car jackers and thugs who shoot store clerks.

We know which neighborhood you'd want to live in if you had a family. Also, noticing a pattern is intelligence, not whatever buzz term of emotional disturbance the Dems want to project.
History shows rule by iron fist and terror is the quickest way to achieve greatness.
History has shown that allowing segments of the population to loot, riot, rape, murder, assault at will with no consequences does not create a prosperous society. What the fed is doing is the opposite of creating terror. They are removing terror off the streets so everyday, law abiding Joe's can go about their life without getting car jacked every day
From the article, they are confiscating firearms from everyone in DC. And that’s why there are no murders. So why not confiscate all firearms across the country? This is more proof what liberals have said all along. Confiscate firearms and school shootings and crime decreases. Thanks Trump for proving that point.
I fully support taking guns away from criminals, not law-abiding citizens, which is what they're doing in DC. It's actually strange that Democrats oppose this.

They are confiscating guns from a problem race.
You don't see the gun violence like in D.C. in places where Whites own the majority of guns.

They don't like it because the guns are being taken away from blacks.
But if the manner of achieving zero murders tramples people's rights, that's less good, right? It's not safety at all costs, we are constantly trying to balance safety with freedom.
I'm not even saying Trump has been trampling people's rights, but that has been the concern. I also have concerns about the sustainability of the approach. Sure if you double a policy force overnight and tell them to crack heads, you'll get great short term results, but once things go back to normal, then what? Resources are limited for everything, most American cities will not be able to double the police force on a permanent basis while balancing constraints related to education, housing, and the many things that a city government does. Resources are limited, people don't want to get taxed like crazy so it's always a balancing act.
