Grant Fisher says he'll be "upset" if GST payment isn't made by July 31 deadline, insinuates legal action may be taken

They did do something good in that general direction by canceling LA - imagine how much deeper in the hole they would have been, to athletes and vendors both, had they gone through with it. (By good I mean compared to the alternatives available at the time. It wasn't possible to retroactively not have made a promise to fans and athletes that the LA meet would be held.)

To be fair, most of the non-athletes and non-coaches who are “BIG” in track have fairly basic skillsets and appearances, they’re just extremely passionate about a niche sport haha in other words, they’re specialized, and maybe a tad manic…beyond that, there are more talented candidates in other fields, obviously.

I still stand by anybody competing in GST was doing more harm to the sport than good. As if they thought they were going to get $100k for winning a race, DL is the pinaccle and just about makes $10k work.

A vanity project praised by people like Bobby Kersee and SML who do more harm to the sport than good.

My guess is that GST will pay the athletes something by the end of today (July 31) but far less than the total amounts owed, along with some mumbo jumbo statement about cash flow, and vague promises to pay more later. They don't want a lawsuit so they'll try to buy some time with partial payments. Unless GST's bank account is literally at zero, in which case they won't even do that.

Ffs. He's an employee of GST. It's not his job at all to communicate sensitive topics like that in public or private for that matter.

No doubt it won't come. But likely the lawsuit can't start until they've reached certain milestones.

If I was Grant or anyone else owed prize money, I would give serious thought to accepting a settlement amount to be paid immediately. Besides the prize money and Miramar facility fee, what other unpaid debts are outstanding? If GST files for bankruptcy, the order of creditor priorities is an open question. If possible take the money and run (bad pun) instead of the real possibility of pennies on the dollar.

Sometimes the world needs to accept that things don't always go your way. Such a highly educated guy as Grant ought to show much better mental emotional maturity and look at the positive side of things. Trying to use the threat of law and court to demand payouts? that's so fk up. He needs to behave his intellectual level of accomplishment and let the less educated Kerr fight it out in court. We don't see Kerr doing this, he is mum. Maybe he is mature enough to let it go. I know I would.

Yeah to be honest the guys are citius mag att incensed over the attitude of Fisher the most well paid, well to do, has everything including dope guy in track. If I were him I would weight my options and shut the hell up. No pay it’s okay it’s not like I’m gonna give it to the children cancer society and if I was I would have said ir and documented it on my live feed and show the transfer of money from my account to them. Then I would feel morally justified to point a gun at MJ and say

”now give it to the childrens cancer society you imbecile”

But Grants just gonna buy a new lamborgh, go on endless spa retreats and travels and gamble it all away on real estate in Monaco, London and Zurich. That’s not selfless, that’s self interested and selfish.

Not legal advice but here's what I would do if I was Grant or one of these runners owed money and I'm not paid on July 31.

1) Send an email / letter to GST stating that money was owed and not paid on time

2) Speak with other runners and hire an attorney

3) Have attorney send email / letter demanding payment and information on GST finances

4) Press GST for amounts owed and information -- document communication

5) If 1-4 fail, file unvoluntary bankruptcy petition against GST
