Washington State HS XC 2025 Season

So the one thing about the new Spokane course that would have me concerned with regards to potentially hosting a big invite, NXR or the state meet is potential parking.

It looks like it's going to be a pretty small parking lot, mostly designed to have busses drop athletes off then park elsewhere. The space for the parking lot, including the bus turn-around section, looks to be about 150' by 500', which isn't a whole lot.

There isn't any additional room for additional parking in the area already purchased for the course, so it's not like people can just park in the grass like they did at Eagle Island after all the parking lot was filled.

I see that additional parking is planned as part of "Phase 2" of the project, but that's not going to start until they have more funding and won't be in place for the first year (or more). I'm guessing that will include purchasing some of the land to the west of the course that's currently owned by the Animal Shelter and a concrete company.

Chambers Bay is by far the best option listed.

accommodates day trips for 70%+ of the field

proximity to major airport

Truly fair and challenging all grass xc course

Plenty of parking (not sure what other posters are talking about logistics wise...John Payne among other big xc events hosted there with little to no trouble)

Easily the most scenic course of the ones mentioned, even hosted NCAA conference meets

In fact the only reason I could see someone not wanting it there is if they were from Idaho, MT, or E WA

The drive from most of these places to Chambers Bay would be more or less the same unless Snoqualmie is closed. Deadman's Pass is better maintained than Snoqualmie

Hmm, doesnt look like they are as fast as last years team. But they are missing their #2 returner which is a big hit.

Are they the best team in WA after this? I bet there’s at least 2-3 who could replicate this

Race was just short of 2 miles, maybe 1.75 miles. Not sure what the terrain was like

No Sophia Rodriguez on the girls side either …

I feel so foolish! Of course he’s not there. I was comparing to the time trial last year which Bodie didn’t run either. I take back what I said earlier.
still not as impressive as I would hope but not bad! I’d still give the edge to mead

2820 meters... Also Jake Powell? We'll see how his season goes but I believe he ran 4:49 last year as an 8th grader.

Based on Strava she's in Europe and just ran 16:07 on a track.

First week with some races!

Races to look at:

Kingco Class Races - September 4th

Mercer Island and Redmond are featured. Redmond is also registered for the Tahoma relays so I am not sure which they are planning.

I'd say it was the Tahoma Relays but since there is water on the course it doesnt quite give a idea where teams are

Hanford Jamboree Sept. 5th - will also be good, Hermiston versus Kamiakin - both teams have a shot at podium.

Farragut Invite in Idaho will be good as well - CDA versus Mt Spokane/ Lewis and Clark (defending 4a champs).

Lots of "intrasquad" races or some TTs. Probably won't see how teams really stack up until next weekend
