Lots of interesting things in this ons incluing her thoughts about the race, whether she's worried about the haters, whether she might return to Jerry, etc. Houlihan also reveals that Nikki Hiltz reached out to her after Hitlz calling Houlihan " homophobic" became well known.
Really had no opinion about Shelby before the ban and then when it broke (but I will admit I thought all along the burrito excuse was a dumb one). But now after the interview I am of the mindset that she broke a rule and has done her time. And as a result time for everyone to move on.
Shelby looks different to me, slightly emaciated and less muscular than she did before. Of course she is aging and her extreme leanness makes her look almost 40.
After all the comments and opinions from us on letsrun I didn’t think she would ever answer questions from letsrun. Kuddos for not ducking letsrun.
LOL - JG and the Brojos have been supporting that drug cheat the whole time. Nothing to fear from that side.
BTW - the last question was particularly bad. Clearly phrased to imply that thinking the banned drug cheat actually doped is wrong! What a weird pro-drug cheat "journalist"....

She looks terrible. Probably doesn't wear sunscreen or doesn't exfoliate. That said, I can't hate on her that much because she was very professional in that interview.
I am glad for her. Whatever your guess about what happened—mine is some gray-area supplements widely used by elites had unexpectedly high amounts—she paid a big price. She clearly went through some very dark times. And now she finally gets to do what she loves at the highest levels again, and the joy is evident. It’s easier to demonize people when we don’t see and hear from them, so hopefully her presence back on the scene will spur compassion and forgiveness.
“Gray-area supplements” that somehow got contaminated with f$cking DECA….an anabolic steroid? Like do you hear what you’re saying?
It doesn’t matter how sketchy a supplement manufacturer is, it is absolutely absurd to even consider that an anabolic steroid could somehow “slip” into production.
I’m being 100% serious when I say that the burrito excuse is more valid than claiming she somehow bought supplements laced with DECA. Give me a break.
It's not exactly out of the realm of possibility. This is 20 years ago:
"Tests on around 100 food supplements at the International Olympic Committee (IOC)-sanctioned laboratory in Cologne found substances on 16 occasions that would lead to adverse nandrolone findings. 'The data we have gathered over the last two years clearly indicates that nutritional supplements can be cross-contaminated by pro-hormones which the body metabolises to create nandrolone,' Professor Wilhelm Schaencer, who led the research, told The Independent newspaper."
You only have to follow the FDA's regular news releases to know how common adulterated supplements are.
What I don’t understand is why didn’t she save her bottles and at least three supplements? I’ve worked with a few sports dietitians and they have all hammered home that if you’re in any testing pool or have the potential to be, you have to buy certified supplements and save at least 3 pills/bottle. The fact that Shelby didn’t have bottles or the ability to track down lot numbers with order history screams that whatever she was taking was not above board.

If she thought there was a possibility of contamination, she shouldn’t have used them in the first place, and CAS, might, or might not, have accepted evidence controlled by Houlihan. Maybe the scientists in the Nike lab could have created a supplement chock full of nandrolone.
Spot on about the exfoliation comment. I was just thinking the same thing about Grant Fisher. He looks terrible, could easily pass for a guy in his 30s. I feel for him.

He absolutely does not look like a guy that’s in his 30s. You must be the only LRC poster that that believes that, yet you post it as a fact.
SKIN CARE FOR RUNNERS: 1.) Wash or wipe your face after working out or running. 2.) Use exfoliator 1-2 times a week. 3.) Always wear sunscreen that is sweatproof, and reapply on the hour. 4.) Take collagen supplements. Also great for your joints.
