Junk/not junk is just binary thinking, which is simply not the case with anything in regards to training. It's always a spectrum of "ideal" to "less than ideal". And if you view it that way, yes, of course there's miles and/or paces that are absolutely less than ideal. But what does all that mean in reality? Don't overthink it. If you're concerned you're about to head out the door and put in some "junk miles", don't be. Just go run, even if those miles are less than ideal. I promise you won't regret it.
