Sorry for being a bit slow but I'm still a bit surprised that some people seem to apparently dislike SML. What is the reason? She seems fine to me, although I can definitely see if she seems disinterested/arrogant
I think some people find the persona she puts out there kind of dull, especially with all the lord stuff.

Which of course is only projection - mental gymnastics to help her justify the copious doping!
1)Affiliation with Kersee who is a suspected drug coach.
2) Sparce racing schedule which some suspect to be related to drug cycle/testing.
3) Bol, who is adored by most, is her chief "rival" and Bol does race frequently.
4) Non-Christians on the board don't like that she is constantly talking about God.
Personally I like Sydney, but from what I've read here those are the reasons for those who don't.
I would add she's not particularly charismatic. There's nothing wrong with that, it is who she he is, but this is likely a factor.
In the sprinting world, look at Bol. He had it all, the world records and the charisma and that went a long way towards his popularity.
In distance running, look at Geb vs. Bekele. Geb was the extrovert, the crowd pleaser and he is hugely popular. Bekele is far more reserved and while he is still beloved by many, it's just not comparable to Geb's popularity.
2. She chooses the soft option of 400m hurdles instead of really proving herself as an athlete over 400m flat.
As if breaking the WR 6 times in any event isn't proving yourself as an athlete...
It's a weaker event than the 400m flat. That is indisputable. She's proven herself over the 400m hurdles. Great. Good for her. But's she's done that now. It's time to move up. And it is up.

i don't have a real problem with her, not really. But I wouldn't really care if she quit tomorrow.
She doesn't seem to like to run, she doesn't show any joy or gratitude for being there. If she had no talent she wouldn't run a step.
this scene from jerry maguire goes for SML. She doesn't run from the heart:

Asinine post
She's been running hurdles since she was a child
God forbid she run the event she's been training her entire life for
Reading these comments, it seems like I am in the minority. It is 100% her persona for me. She wins a championship race in WR time and then just sits on her haunches and stares blankly at the Jumbotron. She doesn't need to be a Bolt. When Tebogo wins he has a huge smile on his face and congratulates all of the other competitors, and you can tell they really like him. I should give her a pass though, because I'm pretty sure she has Aspergers.
She is actually one of the most popular track athletes in the US. If you would have gone to the Edwin Moses meet in Atlanta in May, you would have seen the entire crowd gather around her after the meet. EVERYBODY was there to see Sydney. (I was there to see Wiley vs MacLean). This board, however, HATES anyone who even shows the slightest hint of religion. Sydney made the mistake of mentioning God and the board turned against her. Thankfully, the board represents barely 0.01% of runners and none of the basement dwelling bigots matter. Sydney is the T&F Queen of the USA (outside of this board).
