Kerr has lost two of last three to Ingebrigtsen !!! Kerr is washed !!!
Jeez, the number of upvotes on this shows the number of clueless casual fanboys on these boards. As any actual 1500m fan knows, this is completely untrue- Kerr has beaten Jakob in three of their last four races. Regardless of who you prefer, let's stick to reality please.
They are counting Jakob's 'win' in the Paris semis.

Lol—I got it wrong—a bit overzealous from seeing Kerr get crushed by the Americans. Jakob is an honorary American for letting Hocker pass in Paris.
Kerr has ONLY WON two of the last three against Ingibrigtsen.
Since Kerr’s disappointing performance in Paris, Jakob has won an Olympic Gold medal and broken a 28 year old world record.
I've tried to like Kerr but he's just a sulky little brat . To have a dig at Ingy for getting sick is just lame . All top athletes are susceptible to illness as hard training lowers the immune system and add to that a baby in the house then it's almost inevitable.
alright, alright, alright. ok. that was a good win from nuguse, sub- 3:30 and good tactics
BUT - as a jakob supporter
you just can't call jakob washed. according to norweigan meida, they said he had a cold last week ( i read this is morning by the way, so you can't say he's making excuses after a race)
jakob is not washed becuase he is a 4x WR holder ( indoor 1500, 2000, 3000 , 2mile)
You could see from the start that he wasn’t going to just sit back and let others dictate the race. He positioned himself right away in a place from which he could win. This was a huge step for Nuguse!

Jakob doing 3.29 while still not back to normal form after illness - that is whats "sick" with this race. On a lousy day Jakob still goes under 3.30. Give him a full week of training and recovery, and we could see a good try on the world record again
You really are an idiot if you're counting the finishing position in a semi as a 'win', particularly when the 'loser' beat him in the final.
I don't care about this argument, and hell I might even agree with you if I did. But only a Scotsman would talk down to someone like this on a public forum and not see the problem with it.
If only his peaks came during global championships!
The guy takes bronze in the Olympics in a personal best, then later comes back and WINS the rematch between most of the major protagonists from that race, and all I can do is try to frame it as a negative event.
Who is going to have the buy in men’s 1500m, to next years world championship ? Is it Hocker or Nugusse ? Does The Olympic champion have an automatic buy, for next year worlds ?

I'm sure this sounded profound in your own head before you posted it but I'm afraid you failed, it's asinine and weirdly bigoted.

In what universe is sitting on someone for 1480 meters not letting others dictate the race
The universe where Nuguse consistently sits three or four spots back, never sticks his nose in it, and then sprints at the end to pick off a few scalps. IOW, every major international meet Nuguse has competed in before today. You don’t have to lead in order to run your own race. The best runners can dictate the race from any spot in the field. Nuguse had a game plan today that was designed to win and he executed it perfectly.
