That was very impressive.
Was not expecting any 43s, let alone multiple easy looking ones
Hope they all deliver in the final

A sub 43 runner might PR and not get a medal in the final. Even without WVN or Gardiner. The 400 is back baby!
MHS has got a low 43 in him easily here
43.78 semi by Kirani James is the second fastest on record, behind Quincy Watts 43.71 in Barcelona. Watts went on to run 43.50 in the final
Hudson Smith looked on pace for similar through 325 meters
MHS's improvement is sussy

Let’s go!
Quincy and MHS going low 43s in the final, maybe even WR?

Hudson Smith looked like he jogged the last 75 meters. This final is wide open.
Does MHS always look like he’s limping?
I love Norman but he’s so unpredictable. Even Sanya is baffled by him.
MHS looks to be threatening WVNs 43.03 WR after that semi. This final is going to be nuts - I’m gonna say 4 guys under 43.5
Men’s 400 has not been my favorite event the past few years but I am PUMPED for this final
Hard to tell Norman is all out or not
Am I crazy or did Norman look like crap

said he went out too conservatively and had to push the gas harder than he expected in the third 100. Guy seems too in his head a lot of the time, which is tough because he's obviously super talented and seems to work his ass off.
Yes, he runs like Hassan does nowadays. They look like they have a hitch in their stride.
I feel like the 400 is a weird event. Long enough that the rounds have some impact on freshness of legs, but short enough so you have to run really close to 100% in the rounds and semis. I wouldn't be shocked if nobody runs faster than James did today in the final and it is won in something like 43.9. Hopefully not and we get an all-timer.
I'm trying to parse out who looks best to predict the 4x400 - Botswana looked good
MHS looked really smooth through 300 and he was flying. Completely jogged the last 40m and ran 44 flat. He's gotta be in sub 43.5 shape
Ageless Kirani james

43.79? His fourth best ever, and ninth sub 44!
Olympic champ at 19. His birthday is September 1, the London final was on August 6. I think he was 18 at WCs for the same reason.
