I’ll always cheer against the USA rich girl women’s soccer team after taking a knee.
But that’s it… GO USA!!! USA!!!!
Except the women’s soccer team. Let’s go! ( whoever is taking them on)
Why cheer against some when you could cheer against all of them?

their egos are too big
Its easy to say the American team flaunts a lot of ego about their basketball. But isnt their pride justified? So many golds is not to be sneered at. Odds are their reign is due to end at least temporarily, especially since the rest of the countries' teams have improved so much, by skills and recruiting. But arent they deserving of respect and recognition a a legit dynasty. Did you feel any rancor at the Korean women's Archery team for their umpteenth gold?
The general rule of thumb is to cheer against any team or individual who takes a knee during the national anthem. So women's soccer, men's and women's basketball.
Anyone is welcome to to protest whatever perceived injustice they'd like, but kneeling during the anthem is beyond disrespectful to the hundreds of thousands of soldiers who sacrificed their lives to keep order in the free world. I will easily cheer against any team or individuals that have kneeled.

I would love to see both Men’s and Women’s Basketball lose. I also would love to see Femke Bol win the 400hurdles.
I’m not cheering against McLaughlin as much as I am for Femke. I like how she races a lot and always is game to compete, she definitely deserves a gold.
Im kinda cheering against Lyles, moreso hoping Kerley wins the 100m gold and Bednarek wins the 200m gold.

Not me. These are my brothers and sisters I wanna hear about their stories. Don't give a shee-it about what some chick from Kanuckistan overcame to get there and I hope she'd get destroyed by an American. USA.
It’s Kazakhstan! The 9th largest country on earth and the size of all of Western Europe. Don’t be a typical American ignoramus and have some respect for other countries.

But why Biles? You didn't explain that one. Is it just because she's the best ever?
Simone has never struck me as being cocky or arrogant. She is the GOAT gymnast and still is quite humble and likeable and seems positive toward her teammates. Glad that she is back on her game after the mental blocks she experienced in Tokyo. It's amazing for a gymnast to have such a long career and still be the best at doing it. She's incredible!
Agreed. I view her dropping out as much more like a steepler DNF’ing than a 5000 runner. The risk for actual injury is MUCH higher

It amazes me that some Americans who have everything they need to survive in their country and are basically all spoiled compared to the rest of the world still feel the need to disrespect it. So many countries out there with real issues whether political, racial, economic all seem to still stand behind their country and show respect.
I am a bit against US women's beach volleyball. Women's volleyball is huge in the US because it has become a big scholarship sport after Title IX passed. It seems like beach volleyball was added just to get the US women more medals and not because it was really that big of an international sport.

Cant wait to watch ESP get dumpstered against legit talent from Africa in the 5k. Let’s see her try and resort to dirty tactics like drifting in the lane again.
Can’t wait to watch her run the race of her life, medal or not. If you knew anything abiut racing you would know that you can change lanes and she had plenty of room btw. At least we don’t have someone like Hurta out there shoving people off the track repeatedly and then crying about some kind of missed medal that she would never have gotten
I can't decide if I want to root for Shacarri or not. I was all set to be a big fan, and then someone sent me that Youtube clip of her getting tossed from an airplane and she was telling people "you're regular, I'm a superstar." It wasn't that long ago. Maybe I'll just root for no one.

Again, cheering against anyone instead of FOR someone is a LOSER mindset. Sorry you werent taught this.
This would be true if you only rooted against. But by its nature, sports fandom often requires you to irrationally despise some teams/individuals based on who you root for. Like, you won't see many Charger fans rooting for the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, even though the Chargers aren't there to root for. OP even specifically gave who he's for in the 400 hurdles, which naturally requires him to root against that person's main rival.
She would have to have competed to risk injury
I think the poster made this name up to represent all the -stan countries, not one in particular.

Yeah, not an SCR fan myself. I don’t think any other American has a shot to win the 100m. But kind of hard to root for someone who probably views me with disdain.
I’m rooting for Kenny Bednarek in both sprints. He’s very likable, treats everyone he comes across with respect. But if he doesn’t win, I’d rather see Lyles get it than a Jamaican.
SML I’m definitely rooting for to run another WR.
A lot of us follow track the way others follow nfl. We have our favorite athletes and cheer for them. For me that means I'm cheering for Femke and Jakob over the Americans. It's not that I dislike Sydney or Yared or dislike my country. It's that I cheer for whom I like best.

As it should be. The whole world cheered for Bolt regardless of country. We all have our individual favs. No need to apologize for cheering for the best out there.
