Our guy is pushing 53, has loads of resin in his lungs, and doesn’t appear to be spending 8 hours per week training.
I give him a thumbs-up on the run and added kudos for high-level contributions to American culture and his community well beyond what many might have expected when he was a 17-year-old pup.
Man, I give Snoop credit for exactly one thing. Convincing America that he's not a POS gangster.
Flashes signs - starts argument - follow victim several blocks - gets in another argument - bodyguard shoots him dead - Does MTV Music Awards - Turns himself in afterwards - Cleanses image by working with youth football players and Martha Stewart. Ugh.
You guys are overthinking this. Hobby slogging is anti-athletic, so it seems fast to you. There is a group of middle aged pot smokers who play flag football on the weekend at my local track. The majority of them could do this and many of them are a lot heavier than Snoop.
Reading this thread, now I understand why there're so many fatties in the US. The 400m M70 WR is 59 seconds, and people here (many of whom are runners) are impressed by a 34s 200m? Give me a break.
I am actually kind of amazed because he doesn't look like he's even sprinting and yet I have to kind of get in shape on the track with a few 100 or 150 repeats and then an outing with 200 repeats before I'm ready to do 200 repeats that get into the 34s and 35s.

yeah, 54 isn't exactly old, 74 or even 64 would be a different story.
What's impressive is how slow it looked (like that burst of speed Ato put on at 100) and he didn't look like he was breathing that hard at the end. Makes me embarassed how hard 30 flat is to me.

It's clear to me that if Snoop probably had the body and at least a modest amount of natural talent to have been a pretty decent athlete, maybe a long sprinter, if he had chosen that life in his teens and 20s. Probably at least a competitive HS athlete. He has a lean physique, etc. Maybe he played hoops?
he played wide receiver in high school but i have no idea if he was any good.

I wonder if there were some timing/clock shenanigans. I'll have to study the replay.

Tell you the truth, I swoop in the coupe I used to sell loot, I used to shoot hoops But now I make hits every single day With that nigg@, the diggy Dr. Dre
The defending of Snoop Dogg only lends credence to my original statement that he's won the PR war. Good for him.
I do wonder how awesome you all think he would be if it had been your son that had been dead for nearly 30 years... without him taking any responsibility for it in anyway (again, unless I missed something somewhere). I'm sure that guy's family really appreciates the peewee football and children's books though.
Why aren't we forgiving Bill Cosby and Danny Masterson while we're at it? Cosby should've made "Fat Albert" after the rapes, I guess.
Here's the completely reformed Snoop Dogg only two years ago at the Super Bowl dressed like a Crip, doing the Crip walk, throwing C's... It's all for the kids, I guess.
I ask, would a guy that's remorseful be acting like that? Still? At his age? You think the victim's family thinks he's a good guy? That's what got the kid killed in the first place and the multimillionaire old man can't let it go? It's all a PR joke. America has lost the script by exalting this guy.
34 200 @ his age is plenty good but that's not the point. The segment is fun with viewers who are not predisposed to hating fun. Snoop's commentary has been light/fun. It's refreshing to hear someone genuinely excited about the little things. Very relatable to the casuals who will turn in for the Olympics. The call on the steeple chase, watching it up close, where he's just hype that you can put your foot on the water jump. Kara comes in & is like yeah that's the point but it didn't really match him where he's at. Just find the joy in someone actually marveling at what our top athletes can do. We take it all for granted & critique our athletes to no end.
