I don't get it. She's born and raised Irish so she has Irish legs.
She was also that woman giving Bizimana the business in this track workout. Complete class athlete, and dedicated Irish. Check your prejudice at the door:
University of Texas senior Yusuf Bizimana (NCAA Indoor 800m Champion) does his final hard workout before the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Orego...
If Kingebrigtsen had Kenyan citizenship would commentators refer to his Kenyan legs?
If Jakob was born in Nairobi, educated in Nairobi, lived in Nairobi, learned to run in Nairobi and had a Nairobi accent then maybe the comparison would be valid.
Grew up here. Her Family work and contribute here.
She is more Irish than every Irish American whose ancestors left these shores. We love those people too but Rashidat is ours. May she represent this country with Pride for years to come

Are you the name police? What is an 'Irish Name' then?
Why would it matter when someone is born here and grew up here?
What's an Irish name? How about Sinead O'Connor?
Rhasidat Adeleke was born and raised in Ireland and so is legit Irish.
Her name is Nigerian, reflecting the roots of her parents.
My name isn't O'Connor. Am I not Irish then?
I'm not a Murphy or a McCarthy am I less Irish?
I'm not Paddy or Mick Either
Whats an American Name then? Jackson? Washington? are you allowed names outside of these?
Should all the Brits Be Tommy Smith maybe the Welsh are Taffy O'Jones and the Scottish Jock McSporren.
What nonsense.
And some dude telling the people of Ireland how they should name their kids is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
If Rashidat's parents want to honour her Nigerian heritage though her name is it any different to an Irish American calling their daugher Saoirse or Erin?
The biggest difference is little Saoirse and Erin are American and Rashidat is Irish
Just a little something I've observed: Irish is an ethnicity to Americans, but a nationality to the Irish, who tend to think that Americans of Irish descent are ridiculous when they claim to be Irish.
This is particularly true if you claim that Adeleke, who has a Dublin accent, isn't Irish.
Yeah. It's one of those weird things. Americans and their inferiority complex. It is hilarious that people in Brooklyn who are born in Brooklyn, have never left Brooklyn, speak no Italian, yet think of and call themselves Italian Americans.
Agree 100% !!
Just like blacks who were born in America, whose parents and grandparents were born in America, have never left America, speak no African language, yet think of and call themselves African Americans.
We should get rid of all like her also in the USA: we could start with the German Donald Drumpf (it means s**t that he was born and raised here, his father is German and his surname is German too: let Germany deal with him), and proceed likewise with everybody else (all the WASP should GTFO of USA and get back to England, where they belong, so that native Americans can M.A.G.A.).
If Jakob was born in Nairobi, educated in Nairobi, lived in Nairobi, learned to run in Nairobi and had a Nairobi accent then maybe the comparison would be valid.
You're forgetting that she was a put on the map by an American track team and trains in Texas.

What has that got to do with anything?
Are you claiming her as american now?
An American educational institution recognised her talent and offered her a scholarship in return for her representing their track team.
