Family commitment and contribution to a community goes a long way to cultivating a society, and if someone just moves in and takes a job, they aren’t giving to the community.

It has this reputation, but it's kind of meaningless. It's not like European sprinters are developing much in their home countries. Sure, you had Jacobs in 2021. But most show promise and then flame out. Look at the UK. Ujah, Gemili, etc. ran really fast at 20-22 (i.e. college years) and then just got slower and slower.
When heritage is used to instill some sort of superiority complex in people, that is what's wrong with it.
