definetly two of my favorites. they were both intense men, with anderssen seeming to be the typical, gregarious type of swede. hagg seemed the moody and quiet type. hagg actually ended up with the fastest time, though arne reportedly ran something close to 2.52 for a 1200m. it seems that in those days, they raced themselves into shape, running as many as 4 races a week. basically, just good hard efforts, peaking late in the summer season. i sincerely think that they would have both cracked 4 the next year had they not been banned from their amateur status. but, so is history.
