I worry that this may be a recipe for injury, racing a 10k and 5k two days apart:( Unless she’s just going to run juuust fast enough to win and nothing more?
Welp, no one has responded to my question, but there are plenty of useless responses in this thread.

if she was smart she would just get in the top 5 of her 5000 heat after a 10000 finishing in top 12.

You didn’t pose a question, you wrote a statement and added a question mark to it.

^And maybe run one or both of the races in trainers.
What is not clear to me is how these races affect her World Ranking. If she were to run them just fast enough to qualify for Natty’s, they will garner low ‘performance scores’. Consequently, would they pull her World Ranking down (if the ranking is based upon the average of the ‘performance scores’ during the ranking period)?
Obviously, if she does not have the OlyStandard(s), her World Ranking will factor heavily into whether she makes a team (assuming she were to place top three at the Trials.)
She won't lose any of these results until June 10, but by then, she will have crushed it at NCAA Outdoors again.
I'm not sure why her 14:56.11 from the BU meet in December does not count. I believe for meets to count, they must be listed on the World Athletics calendar. Not sure about this, though.

Thank you for the quick reply! Is an NCAA athlete allowed to wear trainers on the track, if their race will not factor into their ranking?

I’m referring to the shoe stack-height rule, and whether that rule is applicable.

Indoors was 8000m racing in spikes. This is 30000m within 2 weeks (Prelims & Natty’s) She needs to get comfortable in spikes, and yet the body can adapt to that stimulus only so fast.
Prelims may be approached like a workout opportunity…running some laps in the pack…and running some laps by feel while dropping some laps in the 70-73s range.

She can qualify by running 33:00 and 15:45, but it is just not in her mindset to coast.
Curious as always to see what she does.
Yes, she can wear trainers if she wants. (But super shoes actually quite helpful for recovery).
10k/5k double not ideal for training, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do to win champs and team titles. If she just runs to qualify, certainly manageable.
On the humorous side, even though things have really opened up for Olympic qualifying, we still are not really sure what pv's aspirations are. She has never run a pro, or Usatf race, so trials would be a first.

This is not about Valby Parker. We support her.
Your incessant and borderline obsessive posts make us wonder about your mental health (para 1 above)
Why are "assaults" on you attacks on American values & God?
I will say this - you put off some real stalkerish vibes that have caused more than a few of us in the UF community to be on alert. Stop it. Just stop it.
There is a line between being a fan and being an obsessive creeper. You often cross that line.
Your posts are fine. The are about 1% as intense as those from basketball and football fans. Grown men walk around with Csitlyn Clark jerseys on. They talk amd post constantly about 18 year old boys who they have never met. Those things seem normal but posting about a beautiful woman who is the fastest in history is somehow creepy.
