There is not supporting trans athletes competing against biological women. And then there is constantly insulting trans people which is usually what any trans-related post divulges into here on letsrun! Pretty simple (:
This reads like a bait post because its so obviously unfair to biological women to have to compete against MTF transpeople. but, also completely unnecessary to disrespect trans people, use their dead names, call them its, or mentally ill, etc.
I mean have you read a nikki hiltz post recently. They are only trans in their gender identity and get an insane amount of gross comments here for it.
Dont be daft. Most people speaking out against trans hate on here are not saying they want them to compete against biological women LMFAO
Why does Hiltz always race in the women’s division if Hiltz sometimes identifies as a powerful king?
And when will Nikki apologize for his role in perpetuating the suffering of women all over the world and throughout history due to being a member of the patriarchy (partially, and never on race day)? Doesn't he know that even if he does not actively participate in maintaining the patriarchy, that he is still guilty because he benefits from it (partially, and never on race day)?
All sports are physical or mental related, and being more powerful or long endurance or having a high iq and we will be beneficial.
Biology will determine these traits and our lifestyle will determine how close to our potential we will reach. We can use PEDs to help us though, along with training, diet, sleep, stress management etc.
there is no meaningful biological difference in intelligence between men and women, there is in our physiology. Men tend to be larger, stronger and more powerful whereas women tend to be smaller with better endurance. Tend being the key word as life is like a bell curve with outliners.
Who give a damn what you choose to identify as, anything you are is fine by me, when it comes to sports there is going to be an advantage for a man that has gone through puberty completely again women, it’s just biology. The same reason 8 year old don’t compete with 18 year olds.
It’s just a long wind way of saying if there is going to a be a physical element to the event it got to be sex based not gender based event otherwise the women are expected to lose most of the time.
No it doesn’t answer the question. Have YOU (and the OP) seen transphobic posts on here? Not what does some extra sensitive individual view as transphobic.
I was responding to a specific post. The OP on that thread made their thoughts clear without being hatfull.
I think you may have missed point. Just because there are A-holes on the forum and most threads on the topic degerate into hateful sh!t posting doesn't mean resonable people should avoid the discussion.
And you don’t understand why that poster from the other thread would cancel a subscription to a website that has long harbored degenerate A-holes? I understand why someone might have that stance.
Like her or not, Riley Gaines was impacted by this issue and wants to create a forum for discussion. She is against trans women in women's sports. Instead of debating her on the issue, she is threatened and attacked. I don't think that is a recipe for success on either side.
She is spreading malicious lies like trans women are "white males who are trying to acquire victim status" or trans women are "men with fetish for women's lingerie." That does not help any discussion of the issue.

Is it even remotely possible that it's legitimate for someone to think that sexually mutilating children is a "degenerate A-hole" thing to do?

Do you even realize you are lying about her position?

You may be correct. I don't know anything about her other than she lost to a trans woman at NCAAs and is doesn't think it is fair. I have a feeling there's been a race to the bottom in terms of discussion in recent years (similar to almost every other issue).
But the point stands. The issue needs to be discussed and having the opinion that it is not fair for trans women to participate in women's sports is not "denying their existence" any more than saying it isn't fair for men to participate in women's sports equates to "denying their existence."
We need solutions that are fair to both, and that takes collaborative discussion.

How do you have a collaborative discussion when anyone who doesn't support the media's approved side of the discussion is attacked?

No, she didn't lose to a trans women at NCAA. They were tied for 5th, but the 5th place trophy was given to the trans swimmer (Lia Thomas) and she had to wait for her trophy to be mailed.
I think it was very stupid for Thomas to accept the trophy at the ceremony. If she had said "Please give that trophy to Riley. I will wait for mine to be mailed", the situations would have been quite different. But what else would you expect from a narcissist like Thomas?
There must be some kind of reading disability where people can write at a reasonable level but can't reproduce names they have seen in print dozens of times.
While it's an important convo to have for the sport, I think the responses in this thread have already shown why LRC isn't a great place to have it.
I don't support biological males in women's events because it's obviously unfair, but it's annoying when bigoted people pollute that argument by distorting it into pure transphobia. I imagine this is at least partly why it's difficult to actually approach the conversation in real-world governance.
The question I rarely (if ever) see discussed is why are there separate categories for male and female competitors? (and I do think it started as male and female not men and women). I always thought the answer was because of science/biology differences. If that is correct, then individuals with a Y chromosome should not be allowed to compete against individuals with no Y chromosome. It makes no sense to me to hold competitions based upon a social construct. If we divided the results by social construct or individual feelings then I want my award for being the first sales tax consultant in my last race.
And this does not make me transphobic, it just means I have a different opinion than those who disagree with me.
The suffix phobic means one who is afraid of something. The only people who are transphobic are those who lack the courage to tell a trans “woman” that he is actually a man.
