Being selected and actually running the race are 2 different things right?
Josh might just turn on the offer to race even though he is selected right?
But honestly I hope Josh runs as I think he would actually beat Nuguse.

i'm in the minority here, but this is a bad idea contrary to his stated plan and ultimate goal, and in doing so increases the frequency and potential risk of variables like injury derailing the ultimate goal.
i hope he's not being bullied, guilted or bribed into this. He'll regret it and some knob pencil pusher at british athletics will move on to other athletes and take zero responsibility.
the LRC clowns are giving Jakob a 2024 free pass because of a supposed injury. Which is adorably hypocritical for two reasons: 1) the injury declaration could be a personal choice to reduce workload in the Olympic year while ducking obligations, and, 2) if the injury is real, which we all trust that it is, it was clearly influenced at least in part by running everything in sight as hard as possible in 2023.
But Kerr: 1) Has not declared injury to duck obligations and is taking the fallout of personal choices on selective racing head on. 2) In 2023 avoided overload and poor peaking to succeed at an important goal and was planning to do so again in 2024, but F UCK THAT GUY for doing that says LRC.
It’s one race months away from his peak race. Don’t make it more than it is. We’ll see if he runs the European Champs because that would seem far riskier than this.
I do remember last year Kerr started the season very lacklustre and peaked to perfection when it mattered. He said this is how he trains and races. He can’t be in peak form all year.
He’s started off in great form. So I do hope that this is not his peak and he’s just building on what he did last year. His nutrition is more dialled in. He doesn’t seem injury prone?
He also doesn’t seem the kind of guy that would be bullied in to anything. He’ll have a clear plan for this year. That may be a select few races to build confidence (?) or get some practice in. Then just maybe less racing as we approach the Olympics.
I think you are correct. Expect his outdoor schedule to be a low-key 800 in the US, perhaps a Portland/Seattle 1500, London DL and then either or both Oslo/Monaco 1500s, skipping Europeans and that’s it. Some will complain about skipping Europeans to focus on British trials.
WR in a champ race with no pacers or lights...
He isnt gonna sleep with you dude
1/10 chance barega, nuguse and kerr all line up for the 3k at worlds imo.
Not hating on anyone in particular, not making a prediction, i just think it seems a tad unlikely.
Watch the video if Baregas win in 725 for 3000m a couple weeks ago. Easiest looking 725. Barega is fit

Last year he ran an 3k any milrose and an indoor 1500m. Running another 3k isn’t that different. What we don’t know is how the training is different this year. If it is the same basic schedule and he is just fitter, great. If he is doing harder work, earlier we can debate if that is a good move. But it isn’t like Nuguse wasn’t good indoors and the. Better outdoors. A 5 month build up after indoors is a long time…
