a lot has been said about benjamin's higher talent ceiling; but the name of the game is Results: wins, medals, records, consistency.
as long as warholm keeps winning on that end, benjamin's greater projected talent dont matter at this point unfortunately
Let’s hear it from the horse’s mouth (f.ex from Karsten Warholm) who in an interview with Norwegian press a couple of years after his first WC gold (and about two years before his 45.94) said this (I recite after memory): “Benjamin and Samba are taller than me, and leaner, and more athletic and talented, but I am going to do my best…” (No sign of him joking).
Saying that I won’t even guess what the future holds, and we also got McMaster and Dos Santos among others. -Could also be fun if all the guys ran a 400m flat in peak form -think some pb’s here are grossly underperformed (Warholm lost his NR to a lean, tall, athletic 20 years old kn 2023 -who crushed his time with half a second in the WC semis).
And what about an 800m, given Rai’s 600m time as a seventeen years old, and Karsten’s endurance training… (He still thinks he can beat Jakob, given som specific training, and the latter still laughs, dissing him: “ He’s even struggling to hold a 400m; he’s just a sprinter!”…)
