P.S. - I always wondered how the shark got into that boat and killed the crew without capsizing the boat.

See my post above.
From "the Crate" in the original creepshow, the freaky ass monkey thing inside the crate always scared me to death. I actually almost dread watching that movie.
Brokeback Mountain is not pushing an agenda. The Oscars and hollywood may be pushing an agenda for giving the movie so much hype, but the movie itself is not propaganda. Even conservative christian critics like the film cause the movie is a tragedy. The guys don't live happily ever after but rather somewhat tragic ending for both. It is not pro-gay or anti-gay. It is a story.

Speaking of creepshow, how about when the cockroaches burst through the guy's stomach?
Great screen shots of all the best scenes in horror movies
I love this:

And the latest, just in time for the Oscars:
The girl out of the TV in the ring was pretty wicked first time around in theatres, though now its laughable. The exorcist of course - basically the entire movie, but the crucifix masturbation scene has to be the most f-ed up. Also, someone mentioned scary stories to tell in the dark. This is GENIUS. I don't know if anyone has read these, but they are pretty creepy. Its almost impossible to read the stories and look at the pictures at the same time. The artist is terrific. Finally, the opening scene to scream has to get a mention. The crowd reaction for this was awesome.

...Oh, btw....ANY of the pictures in the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark series are FREAKY.
Man I had all of those books growing up,.still do actually. Those pics are so creepy. IMO they make the stories 2x as freaky.
The climax of "Don't Look Now", early 70's flick directed by Nicolas Roeg with Sutherland and Christie starring. The films that get to me are the ones that twist grief and fear together and this one is tops for that.
Sloth victim scene from SE7EN. F***ed me up for literally years.
The lobotomy scene from Session 9. I'm sure most of you haven't seen it, so I won't spoil it. But a few people in the theater were moaning, "No! No! Don't! Please don't!" Very freaky.
I highly recommend that movie. A movie like "Scream" has some good moments of surprise, but "Session 9" inspires a feeling of dread throughout. It's some heavy stuff.
CSO
5 yrs old and seeing the witch suddenly appear in the crystal ball in the Wizard of Oz, the flying monkeys creeped me out too.
The scene with the girl rocking back and forth on the floor which you think is a child but turns out to be an old woman in "The Others".
chic flicks scare me
Now let's you just drop them pants. Why don't you take off that itty-bitty shirt. Them panties too. I'm gonna make you squeal like a pig. Weeeeeeee!
Before there was Brokeback Mountain, there was DELIVERANCE.

Creepshow was a classic....damn I want to watch that movie again.
MY MOM TOOK ME TO SEE ALIEN WHEN I WAS SIX!!!!! For some reason, she thought it was going to be another Star Wars.ALIEN is one of my all time favorites. The chick (not Weaver) got hit with a pint of blood in that scene. She screamed, jerked backward, and fell over a couch that was off camera. The fact that the actors were improvising explains why Skerrit shoves a spoon into Hurt's mouth. What the hell was that supposed to accomplish? I love the expressions on their faces when that first shot of blood comes out. Also not widely known, Ridley Scott was attempting to use "agoraphobia" to drive the audience's fear. The fear of wide open spaces. In Alien he uses "claustraphobia."I also love the fact that there's no music score and that you never see the entire alien so the imagination is allowed to run wild.JAWS fans: Myth Busters did a special on Jaws. Conclusions: A Great White CAN break through a steel divers cage and can put a hole in a wooden boat but CANNOT hold 3 barrels under water, pull a boat so fast that waves break over the deck, and a bullet in an air tank will NOT cause it to explode.

The chest-bursting scene involving John Hurt in "Alien". An alltime classic.
What might not be generally known is that the other cast members were totally unaware of what was to happen, other than the director, the production & spec/fx crew plus Hurt himself. This explains why the expressions of shock on their faces were so genuine.
Heck of a cast, too: Weaver, Hurt, Skerrit, Koto, Stanton
and Holm. Hard to go wrong when you work with good people.

I'm confused . . . was he using agoraphobia or claustrophobia???
How about the last scene in Jeepers Creepers when that monster thing is down in his underground "lab" and the teenage boy victim is lying there, still alive, waiting for the monster to harvest the needed body part. (I think his eyes) And the old song, "Jeepers, creepers. Where'd ya get those peepers? Jeepers, creepers. Where'd ya get those eyes?" is playing on an old phonograph.
