Not all sports are based on athleticism, some are based more on skill. John Kruk wasn't athletic but he could hit a major league baseball. Most people couldn't do that. On the other hand anyone that isn't disabled can run. Anyone hitting a major league pitch is impressive while anyone running a marathon is also impressive. I have no more respect for a 2:00 marathoner than I do a 6:00 marathoner.

Like any other MLB position player, John Kirk was a tremendous athlete and he had to be to hit as well as he did. He was also a decent outfielder with a good arm.
Did you play any baseball? All the baseball players at my HS we’re good at multiple sports.
I'd bet that 95% of the people here aren't physically capable of bringing in an 800lb Blue Marlin.
