I thought he was going sub-3 for sure. I think his long runs and numerous workouts were better than stuff I’d done ahead of comfortably going under.

ex. 20 mi run with 2x5mi ~6:30 avg

3x2mi average 6:15 w/ 2’ rest

Last build i doubt I could, I ran a conservative 2:57:30 in decently heavy rain and sub-1:21 pretty much untapered in it.

Against NYRR policy. Heard of somebody getting banned from a NYRR race that they had already paid for after getting caught banditting.

Every time I saw him running he appeared to be running by himself. What am I missing?

I guess if someone can post some evidence I'll leave the thread up but otherwise I'll take it down.

On his instagram story you can see him hugging his fiancé (looks like maybe in queens), two women in matching black new balance outfits were standing on the side of the road with no bibs. They jumped into the race and started running with him. Later in his story, he reposts a picture of the same women saying they paced him.

What kind of person is upset about this?

Based on the names tagged in the story, it appears Anna Jurew and Mellie Reed were Chavez's pacers. Both of them are part of the Central Park Track Club (Jurew is a member of their International Elite Program too).

I think it's abundantly clear, based on the circumstantial evidence detailed above, that Chris Chavez was unfairly aided on his quest to run a 3:15 marathon because he used illegal cheating pacers.

I think he should be banned by Abbott from running a world marathon major for 2 years. I can see it now on Citius Mag: "Chris Chavez: Banned for Two Years," That's roughly the amount of time the ban would continue to be hilarious during Citius's marathon coverage, and that's all I really care about.
