Nice man. If you never ran 1km below 5:00 before and just ran a 22:44 5k that might mean you have been holding back.
Don't be afraid to push yourself on hard days - in fact you need to go hard, that's how you progress, Just take care of yourself and keep it easy on the easy days.
Just do everything you can to stay healthy - stay on top of strength training, make the right choices with diet every day, get enough sleep and stay hydrated, listen to your body etc... These are all obvious things but the results will come when you stack weeks on weeks (months on months) and eventually Years on years of that. Things will happen, that are out of your control, but if you do everything you can you give yourself the best fighting chance.
Stay patient, stay healthy, stay hungry!!
Vlad Ixel has some really good Beginners strength workouts on Youtube, really good stuff. Pretty much all bodyweight / band / resistance stuff, his workouts are 15 mins a time. That's a good starting point, cuz you should be able to fit in at least 3 of those a week after your runs. I found those at the beginning of the pandemic and that was my starting point with taking Strength training seriously. Made a huge difference for me. Over the years i worked my way up and now i can handle about 120-150 mins of strength each week.
Last thing...... shame i used this as my username all thread but that one comment was just so stupid man. Lol
