That brings up a good question. Guys, would you cut off your wejo if it was enough weight loss to drop enough time to become an olympic runner?

No way. That would be pointless (literally). Imagine being an olympic gold medal stud and having all these hotties hanging all over you and you couldn't......

How fast is just fine?
I don't want to run "just fine". I want to run the best I can
To calculate the effect of 1 lub of not needed (excess) body fat, try using the VDOT tables, which say a 64.58 VDOT = 15:59 5k. Now, if you weigh 60 kg then your absolute VDOT value is 64.58 X 60kg = 3875 ml per kg per min. If you lose 1 lub, from 60.0 to 59.55 kg and divide that 3875 by the new weight of 59.55, you get 65.07 ml per kg, and on the same VDOT table that gives you a 15:52 5k, which is 7 seconds faster, and 7 sec for 3.1 miles = 2.26 sec per mile (7/3.1 = 2.26).. All this considering the weight you lose is unnecessary fat. If you lose muscle mass (especially from the running muscles, and not some unneeded upper-body muscle), then the absolute VO2 (3875 in the example above) also can go down and you just end up dividing a smaller weight into a smaller absolute max and may not only not have a higher relative max , but maybe a lower one, so you lose time per mile – it’s that simple.
What about runners like Chris Solinksy at 6'1" and over 160lbs., Scott Jurek (ultrarunner) is 6'2" 170lbs.? They seem to kick ass, all of our asses on the website. Also, millions of years of mammalian evolution can't be wrong only cultural biases on looks.
Not ONCE in over 25,000 attempts did my weight ever affect my performance ...
Sincerely
The Stilt
No way does Jurek weigh 170. That guy is a bean pole.
I've actually noticed very little effect (or is it affect, i never remember) of weight on performance. By that I mean I run just as fast at 140 as I do at 130. Now obviously if you are carrying around tons of extra weight, some of its gotta go, but i think we all know when we are pretty fit. I thought when I dropped those ten pounds, my running would markedly improve. No such luck. whatever thats worth.
I saw Solinsky this weekend and I'd put him ~ 5'11" and 150-155, which I believe I saw corroberated in a Bio at one point. He looks bigger in pics because he is always up with the 130lb guys....
opps- just checked the Wisco site and they have him at 6'1" and 160
