"Look! I have no idea how this zit cream got into my tainted pork offal burrito, which should have been birria but the illegal alien dummy in the food truck made it wrong!!! Maybe the pig had a skin condition? In any event, I would not have cheated and my coach has never heard of acne before. All of my teammates believe me and will say so on Twitter, alright? So just let me continue to compete because I can't help it that a pig farmer with severe skin blemishes didn't wash his hands after applying medicine and then proceeded to castrate a wild boar and sold those testes as Grade A beef."
You can't just say that it was an acne cream and therefore she's innocent. If that were an adequate defense, then you could just take whatever topical or other substances that contained performance-enhancing substances but sounded like they served legitimate purposes and be excused from doping violations. Ultimately, pro athletes taking any substances have the responsibility to check on their legality.
I assume she appealed(?). But it does bug me a little bit that she posts "honest" videos about other topics (mental health, eating disorder, injuries) but failed to just post an honest video shortly after failing the test.
If she had been running PRs and blowing the doors off competitors over the past year, and bulking up, I'd be mighty suspicious of a potential masking agent. None of the above, AllieO has barely raced since the ED treatment, didn't look all that strong running wise, and while she's looking like she has put on some weight since the ED days it's normal looking. This is not bona fide burritos from an authentic Portland food truck.
