Isn't that just terrible for him though? He hyped up this massive track season he had planned after his aborted sub 14 project and all he got out of it was some DFL finishes and a 4:04 mile.
Pretty decent result after some lackluster races earlier this year. If he keeps up doing bigger workouts like the one in his last video, he should get somewhere faster than he’s used to

Who the hell cares anymore. He’s not going to achieve any significant times and he never was. Dude broke 4 once in college. It’s like even the people bashing him in here are like hanging on to a glimmer of hope? Why? The kid is obnoxious and his videos are ridiculously cringey. He never articulated himself well when talking about running or racing and seems pretty dolty. Why do we care about a mid 20s guy still running over 4min…spencer needs to stop making excuses for every mediocre race and just go get a big boy job in the real world. There’s plenty of guys his age who are running faster than him while not being sponsored at all and also not making pathetic YouTube videos
Nah this is a good result for him. Not great but good. He needs to keep the momentum going. What kind of result do you expect from him when his pB is 3:39.9 in the best shape of his life
Training under Ari: 9 second behind Eric Holt at Pennsylvania. 8/10/23
what a waste of an year. Imagine if Spencer stayed with his dad for one more year. Smh
How many haters on this thread went to school or ran against Spencer/Ari in college? The amount of judgment on this thread is ridiculous and a bit sad.
I liked his content over the years and you have to give him credit he did an exceptional job pulling people into him while in college. I’m about to pay this dude to move to Illinois and train with my high school son. Give him an actual job between sessions. What’s his degree in?
That’s absolute bollocks. He can achieve something amazing if he’s going to apply himself.
I looked like I didn’t have a fast twitch muscle in my body until I began following starting strength and stronglifts style weightlifting. I only started into those because my mother and track coach pushed me to start lifting weights at age 18.
I got really into it, made my senior year about the 800m and 4x4 relay, then when I graduated high school, I TT’ed a way faster 300m than I had ever performed the previous two months when I was still competing in high school.
Since then, I have hit 6.2 seconds 50m, 9.5ft broad jump, 32.5” vertical leap. These are things I never thought possible. As a runner in high school, my best indicators of speed were 150m on the fly in 19.low seconds during workouts, and a 54.8 anchor relay split.
When I applied myself to learning, I learned. When I applied myself to sprinting, I became far faster. Social skills and confidence - same thing!
I’ve achieved things I’d never have thought possible back then. I’m older than Spencer by a year, and though I never competed in college, that’s ridiculous to assume just competing in college guarantees your peak. What’s to say he’s at his peak? Do we not understand how much wisdom a person gains from age 21 to 26? You’re only slightly older, but you’re still in your prime of youth at 26.
if good athletes believed that it’s over they wouldn’t achieve anything. WvN, Warholm, Kipchoge, Hassan, Kipyegon, so many more would have already hung up their spikes. Blake wouldn’t have bothered to even try to run a 10.0x this season at like, nearly 40 years this season.

Dude, you're talking our of your a$$. This comes across as you bragging about your mediocre times.

I have no way to prove to you how much positive change I’ve experienced in my own life, thanks to hard work, chance, God, and inspirations. so all I can hope to do is try to cite my own improvements as well as the accomplishments of great athletes with whom we’re all familiar.
I am very happy that I might be able to achieve some good times, and it does feel good to talk about them, but I will be even more happy if I can help inspire other people to try to push for better times past the age of 25. I don’t understand why people sell themselves so short
