Growing up in the 70s, they said we were on the verge of the next Ice Age. The entire "climate change" mantra is a financial SHAKE DOWN of the Western World. Pure and simple. Communists now mask themselves as "progressives" and promote the religion of "climate change" and other left-wing, Commie propaganda.
In the 70s they said we had 15 years until the world would burn from "climate change". you have been brainwashed, but you probably deserve it
In the 70s the same eco clowns were telling us that a new ice age was imminent.
My friend says playing russian roulette with a revolver is going to get me killed, but that guy's a moron! I've played 3 times now and not died! He says it's just basic statistics, but I'm pretty sure he's just trying to brainwash me.
I remember running at Texas for regionals in the end of May and it was in the 90's every day, 85-90 still in the evening when the distance races were run, and upper 70's right away in the morning. Looks like it's similar weather right now in the end of June which I imagine would be hotter than in May. I don't remember a bunch of crying about the weather back then, it was normal and still is normal to be upper 90's in Texas in the summer, even 100 is pretty normal. Now if you had a string of 110+ days that would be abnormal, but I'm not seeing that in the forecast.
Is it too hot because of climate change or because it's summer in a state that always has hideous summers?
BTW, I live in North Carolina and it has been unusually cool this spring and summer. Is that because of climate change?
Anthropogenic climate breakdown has made the chances of a heat-dome like the one Texas, Mexico, and a growing number of Plains and southeastern states are experiencing five times more likely, according to experts. Please use Google.
And yes, climate change is a global phenomenon. The slight bit of cooling NC has enjoyed so far this year--accompanied by drought conditions in all but the tiniest far western corner of the state--is part of the overall matrix of weather events precipitated, enabled, or made more likely by climate collapse.
Weather is complicated and weather will continue, even in this era of climate breakdown. Some days will be cooler than others; some regions will be cooler when others are much, much hotter. But the overall global trend of higher temperatures, more extreme heat waves and precipitation events, more widespread forest and grass fires, and more wildlife die-offs will continue.
There's a good saying that you would do well to keep in mind: "Just because it isn't happening here doesn't mean it isn't happening."
Only problem being the extreme events aren't getting more common or widespread. They're just getting sensationalized in the media by people with a political agenda.
99.99% of all the species that have ever lived on earth went extinct long before the combustion engine ever existed.
The glaciers melted and sea levels rose over 400 feet in the last 10,000 years long before the combustion engine was invented.
Weather is very complicated.
Climate is much more complicated than weather.
Anyone who tells you they understand how the climate works is either a liar or a fool.
Well Con servatives sure grifted the power grid in Texas for their benefit but don't try and get your air conditioning to work in Houston without causing a blackout!

My air conditioning has never gone out but the freeze we had a couple of years ago was devastating.

You might want to keep this in mind: Just because it's happening here doesn't mean it's happening everywhere.
Indeed. In Europe it's been a lot colder than usual until about four weeks ago. This year so far we had about two or three "summer" weeks. All the rest has been dreadful weather.
Why didn't someone tell me about this global warming/rising seas thing before I bought my sea level mansion? If only I would have known....
Look, look, up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Al Gore flying to Europe in his private jet to pick up his environmental award! Hi Al !!!
I think that was John Kerry who is the Climate Czar. Since Biden has been elected, the environmentalist John Kerry's private jet has emitted 300 metric TONS of carbon.
It still shocks me that young people (who I'm assuming are the majority on LRC) are arguing over climate change.
Its proven science and the data clearly shows the trend.
The only arguments against it come from 2 camps, The ignorant one of the political one.
If it is "climate change" why was it called Global warming for so many years and the only they started calling it climate change when in 1998 the Earth quit warming? They had to change the name to fit their liberal agenda. Just shameful.

Lol
How completely unsurprising that you don't know there was a pause in the warming...
