i'm sure her coach questioned the plausibility of that double. she still scored more points than she would have if she was only entered in one of the two and was able to win. that's beside the point, though.
it seems like it was her idea to attempt the double. don't think her coach "forced" her to do anything. perhaps an auspicious and overzealous goal in any case but no reason to drag someone for it like people are doing... sad
It was definitely Britton Wilson's idea to run both the 400 and the 400h. Her coach wasn't pushing her to do that.
So she tried something and it didn't work. Big deal. Are you aware that most people who enter a race don't win?

hi! i'm the trollgratification guy. not sure if your post was literally meant as a response exclusively to my post or not. either way, no big deal. seems like a simple miscommunication in any case. if you were meaning to respond directly to me, let me clarify my perspective.
i am well aware that most people who enter a race will not win said race.
in that post i had meant to highlight how ridiculous it is for people to respond to the perceived failure of a purported favorite in any competitive event by belittling them, their performance, and their supporters. i'm on the exact same page as you.
if she chooses to label her decision to attempt the double as a mistake, then that is her prerogative. if she learns from the experience then she will do it with or without our input. that much should be obvious to anyone with an ounce of self awareness. you seem to understand that.
trying to explain the philosophy of the sh*ttalkers may be beyond my breadth of expertise. at least, it would take a lot more explaining. they get the board riled up for sure. in some ways it could be a good thing, but they are definitely favoring the wrong side of their egos
This is obviously racist. Irish is a multicultural country. Hundreds of thousands of Irish Citizens come from diverse cultural and racial backgrounds. Rhasidat Adeleke was born and raised in Ireland and is one of Irelands most popular young sports stars. If you want to label her "Irish" you will have to do the same to our Prime Minister Leo Vradkar who's father made a home in Ireland a generation ago, and also to thousands of people with similar stories who have enriched our society.

Wilson did fine in the flat 400. She ran into a bigger younger equally talented girl who is just starting to figure out the 400. When they faced each other in the Tom Jones meet 2 months ago I posted that I was equally impressed with Adeleke, even though Wilson won. It was obvious that Adeleke had considerably more room to improve.
Today it was clear from the outset that Adeleke would prevail. Wilson didn't gain anything early. Perhaps she was overly tentative due to the wind on the backstretch, or doubling. Once they were even with 100 remaining there was only going to be one winner, given the stature advantage.
The 400 hurdles, now that was surprising, considering the caliber of field. I expected Wilson to run 54 low. But it took her so long to reach the first hurdle, 54 low was already out the window. Dwight Stones did a good job pointing out her slow start. He was also correct that Wilson should have been sitting and resting between races instead of standing there watching everything.
Tons of this is mental. Wilson probably felt invincible at 400 flat and expected to replicate her indoor results of storming past everyone toward record time. Once it didn't play out that was she was stunned and couldn't regroup.
One of the twins from White Chicks. A true timeless classic of a movie. I didn't know she had it in her to parlay the success into a track career. Also didn't think she'd be confused for Britton Wilson, but what do I know?

but she scored no points in the 400MH, did she?
The NCAA continues to run these youngsters into the ground with its ridiculous schedules. I hope she recovers in time for USA's and makes the team in an individual event for Worlds.

she did score 2 points. all but one of the 9 finalists scored points. the condensed schedule definitely does suck. would be great if the best athletes didn't have to pick and choose between events simply because limited recovery time is a serious issue.
