It then takes me like 10-15 sec to feel normal again.
Is this normal?
This happened to me 10 years ago. I was 54 years old and running 40+ mpw at sub 7:00 pace but I would lose breathe walking up steps or even lecturing in school.
Then, 2 miles into a 5k I had an asthma attack! I was 54! Never had asthma, now I do.
You’re freakin’ me out!
I have no deficits or anomalies as of yet, but I have always believed that when something does manifest, it will be catastrophic.
How is the asthma management? Today as I was doing 100’s on turf, some people had a fire pit going nearby, and I could smell the smoke. I thought boy would it suck to be asthmatic.
This used to be me. Then we bought a 3.5 story townhouse. I go up and down the stairs maybe 20-30x a day. I no longer feel winded going up stairs because my stair-climbing muscles are better developed and I practice stair climbing 200+ times a day.
Chances are you're probably overweight. Also, going up stairs doesn't use the same blend of muscles as running does. There's not a perfect carryover.
