If he can get his track tactics and peaking right he’ll likely medal. Talent wise I think he’s still a step below Kiplimo who’s the same age but he’s got the fitness.

Kiplimo still doesn't have a track title. Worlds have to be fast for either to stand a chance because a sit-n-kick could be anyone's race.

Kiplimo’s finish is quite good but he has often fallen asleep in Global finals. Then again he ran the Commonwealth Games and World XC really smartly so maybe he’s learned. Cheptegei has beaten him more with his head than anything the last couple times. Aregawi’s lack of kick is a real concern. He should push it early,
His best races seem to be when he hammers from the front like the Pre 5k last year. Had the lead at the bell at WC 10000 but ended up pretty far back

Yeah I think he needs the whole last K+ to be cooking. If a bunch of guys can kick in 53-54, he’s left it too late.
