I don't know if it is still the situation, but Kufuzi is a licensed attorney, and when he started out doing Youtube videos he owned a trial consulting business and was an adjunct professor at Chicago-Kent College of Law. He's also a husband and father.
That was true, up until 2020 or so, when he put out a video announcing he was giving up his career to stay at home.
Mid-40s, full time job, wife and two kids...3 hour marathon looks pretty decent. It took some extra effort to get there.
That is not the situation Mr. Fuzi faces. No full time job to worry about. No need to get up at 5am to grind it out like the other hobby joggers.
Per strava, 10am starts most days. Up to 2 hour runs each day, he is dedicating ~13 hours a week.
I don't know. Is this really an amazing result?
I'd add a couple things: (1) he's probably doing a full time job editing etc. during non-peak hours, so it's not like running is his only thing; (2) he's like 130 lbs (looking light these days) and has run much of his life, so his form/mechanics are not awful; and (3) has had almost no recent injuries I can think of that really set him back or are chronic. So with all that, I'd expect him to be in the 3hr range. If he had a more traditional job, less running, bigger, or injury prone, I'd probably view this as a greater achievement.
Tokyo Marathon 2023 was an incredible race. Fast course, great weather, and running in Japan is an experience. Official time: 2:56:47Thanks for watching! Lea...
The LRC hate on Kofuzi is ridiculous. The guy literally wears merch with ‘non-elite’ on it, is very transparent in both his YT revenues and training, while putting out free quality content for us to enjoy. He’s everything SJD is not.
