I don't see any issues with Houlihan taking the money? It was donated to her for her to use. This is making a mountain out of a molehill when the American government just prints trillions of dollars whenever it wants.
It was donated to help her prove her innocence. But she knows she doped and those who donated are dupes. That money that was donated did not belong to her.
Kinda like our donations to Trumps fraud election were to prove he was cheated?
Hmm. Thanks for your response. I'm presuming all the defences she's done so far has already cost more than 16k. Probably way more. I guess others on this thread don't think she's spent anything on her defence so far? Doubtful.
To be clear I don't support her. If you look me up I've excoriated her in the threads about her doping. I just don't agree with the logic here but if im missing something I'll change my mind.
Shelby was also at UC Santa Barbara where her sister coaches, and she gave a motivational talk to the UCSB athletes, and stayed for a team dinner. Sad enough that they had to stomach wise words from a doper.
Is it possible that she closed it because she collected enough to cover her costs? How does it prove she didn’t use the funds for her legal defense?
I don't think it does either way. But it was a scam, because contrary to her claim on that page, she did not "fight to prove her innocence", but simply wanted some easy money. For that, $16,000 aren't bad actually.
Shelby and her team don't know with 100% certainty where this trace amount of Nandrolone came from. The only thing they do know for certain is that she did not take it intentionally. Shelby did not take Nandrolone and has never knowingly taken any performance-enhancing drug.

Imagine being so concerned with the demise of someone that you're mad someone else believes in the possibility of their innocence. Just forget about Shelby if you're done with her. This is harassment lol. The money donated wasn't your money

The case that she laid out for why she tested positive is a tortured collection of facts and logic. She almost certainly has spent more than $16k already if her sponsor didn't cover her legal bills, and trying to prove her case will cost a lot more than that.
Wealthy people pay lawyers millions of dollars to defend them from accusations of wrongdoing -- sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. But $16k is not getting anybody anywhere, especially with the evidence against her and the defense she has used thus far.
The real story is that LRC sold millions of burrito t shirts to unsuspecting Shelby fans, purportedly to support her resurrection. Did any of that money ever make it to the victim's slush fund, or was this all just another Steve-Bannon-Build-The-Wall type fraud?
Not sure why LR deletes every possible Shelby thread despite leaving a myriad of braindead topics open for discourse, but I think it's worth noting that Shelby just recently disabled donations on her GoFundMe, which basically means it's official now that she robbed her fans of $16k
I feel proud and honored to have donated no less than six times to her fund. My family even forwent Christmas last year, so we could contribute to her fund.

It was a lost cause. She should support Tygart and lobby for WADA rule reform, so others don't become victims of a set of presumptions, and the scorn of the public.
After WADA rule modifications in 2015, there was little chance that Shelby would be able to avoid a 4-year ban for the presence of a small amount of ingested nandrolone.
But what we learned is that even the WA/AIU experts estimated on the order of 1 in 10,000 pigs per year containing nandrolone can slip past USDA inspectors (in normal non-pandemic conditions), meaning as many as 12,000 pigs per year in the USA alone can cause an unintentional rule violation.
It's like Russian roulette.
Did the WA/AIU experts give neutral testimony? During the pandemic, more soy, delays in pig slaughter, and fewer USDA inspectors all work to undermine the WA/AIU experts, not to mention other nandrolone sources were not addressed, such as chemically castrated pigs (in Oregon), and any pandemic related delays in medicine and slaughter.
Nandrolone presence will be considered a violation regardless of circumstances, if they don't follow the written guidelines to treat it as an AAF, and if an athlete is unable to prove the source beyond the balance of probability, the default ban is 4-years based on a presumption of intent.
