Ucla has a good amount of talent, with Sean, their potential skyrockets. I think this is a great hire.

Most likely if Mike Smith doesn’t coach NAU anymore. If he doesn’t, Colin and Nico will transfer there too.

Money was not the only factor. And don't forget that his wife has a good job.

What's the running like at UCLA? When I visited campus for a bit I couldn't find any soft surfaces and flat routes without having to drive out for >15 mins. Seems like a tough place to run 70-100 mpw.

Under what possible scenario would he leave? He already coaches pros on the side. Didn’t leave for the “big” openings this off-season. He’s got a good thing going.

However, you can’t be a great distance runner at UCLA. Good, yes, not NCAA Champ great. Training grounds are not ideal.

One time on vacation I ran on the UCLA track, fastest surface I've ever ran on. Of course I assume the new Oregon track is even better

will be interesting to see exactly what his role is. calling him assistant track and field and cross country.

And remember, in 2016 Bozeman had a new coach. And their team won NXN which they were not supposed to. And they won by 36 points.
