I was hooked on the Blues the first time I heard 'Killing Floor' by Howlin' Wolf.

For me Son House is the epitome of Delta Blues.

Son house the same deal has Hurt, he recordd a handful of tunes in 1930 then got lost until that revival in the 60's. So we have thos two sets of recordings.

Yes he gets big props as THE best example of them Delta blues. I do prefer Patton however.

I knew all about Charley Patton way before I ever heard him. You won't be hearing him on the radio around here. So I'm at Borders in Visalia checking out the music......come across a Legends of the Blues...CD. Yep, there he was Charley Patton. Now I have 30 miles to deal with getting back to Porterville before being able to finally get a listen. Never hated trying to break into a CD as badly as this one, you know the hassle. So I'm finally ready......

Didn't know who it was and it took a few listens before figuring out it wasn't two different singers. The Wolf is at the top of the pantheon. Nobody else comes close.

"Moanin' at Midnight" is the greatest song in the history of music.

I lived in Tunica from 2011 to 2014 on Hwy 61. Took me about 6months to learn the historic significance of Hwy 61 and Blues history....AMAZING.

Wish I would've had more time to just "listen to the music" and BBQ. Although I did get a few swigs of moonshine now and then !
