Can Jeruto take the steeple WR?

Was Kerr's 2021 his peak or can he get closer to Jakob and Tim?

What can Tsegay do against Kipyegon and Hassan over 1500?

Can a Kenyan man step up to take gold in the 5 or 10? Kandie, Rhonex, Kimeli, Kwemoi?

Will anyone emerge to dominate the men's 800 or will it continue to be a roll of the dice?

To add to Jon's write up: can Hodgkinson beat Mu in any race (not necessarily the WCs)? It won't be a rivalry if there's no uncertainty about the outcome of their races.

Women’s 1,500 should be epic: Tsegay (indoor 1,500 winner), Safan, Kipyegon and Muir. Can Norris, Purrier St. Pierre or GDS break into the top four? Prefontaine Classic should be a good preview of the WC.

Rojas going over 16 meters would be epic, and Duplantis is definitely a star but I'm more interested in watching a guy like Grant Holloway chase his first outdoor WR than Duplantis raising his own WR by a centimeter at a time. To each his own.

Jon, you mention it in passing, but I think the Niyonsaba story is going to be one that is front and center. After Doha it’s clear that she’s ready to defeat Hassan, Gidey et al in races that matter. When she wins a global gold medal there’s going to have to be a reckoning on the issues raised across all events in the sport.

So much to look forward to. Very much looking forward to what Hassan and Gidey will do this year, particularly Gidey's marathon debut in December.

Will be interested to see what Tsegay will do this year, I wonder what she'll chose to focus on? I think the 10k may be her best bet? She's already a sub 30 athlete.

Is Kipyegon still moving up to 5k? Was looking forward to seeing her duel with Hassan there, though it looks like Niyonsaba is her biggest problem currently.

What craziness will we see in the men's 400m hurdles? Can Femke Bol get closer to McLaughlin and Muhammad? Will Coburn bounce back in the steeplechase? Personally I think she's probably past her best now, though hopefully I'm wrong.

There's loads more, but for now they're the main ones that jump out.

Unlikely, but seeing Tsegay in the form of her life chasing a 1500/10000 double would be fab.

My Top 5:

- More specifically: Can Athing Mu scratch the 800m WR or concurrently dominate another event (400m)?
- Can Randolph Ross hit top-ten all-time or sub 43.5?
- Yohan Blake's Bicep Measurements
- Will Fred Kerley do something outrageous?
- After this season will we consider Abdi Nur "Nuguse's replacement" or "the new Mo Farah"?
